Many reviews come from people who have visited or toured this facility. My review is from experience lasting 14 years from the time my mother entered independent living, then assisted living, and finally their long term unit. While living in independent living my mom was very happy with the facility. The transition to assisted living was difficult, and although more expensive, the level of care was extremely lacking. Nursing turnover was constantly high and use of temporary CNA’s from other agencies was the norm. Mom had some dementia and the constant change in staff was very confusing to her. It also was difficult for me to get feedback from people who cared for her because on one person was ever there long enough. Night time help was a nightmare. I finally had to hire my own people to care for her during the nights because she was so neglected. Some very nice nurses who were outstanding care givers got fired for minor issues. Management personnel were constantly changing without notice. Management seemed more interested in $$$ rather than making sure residents were being properly cared for. Mom was, a times, both verbally and physically mistreated. Bringing these issues up with management had no effect in terms of improving the care. While in long term care mom’s care was even worse. Her hearing aids were constantly being broken or lost. At one time there was a hearing aid in her room that wasn’t even hers. I had to constantly fight to get the care that she deserved and required. I could continue with what I experienced but I think you get the picture. The topping on the cake is that I’ve waited a year now to be reimbursed the 90% entrance fee, and still don’t have it. If you are thinking of living here, think again. I would suggest you have a lawyer look over the contract and add a time limit for reimbursement and/or penalties if not returned within a timely manor. And ask what “or similar” means when referring to the unit that you bought into. Better yet, go somewhere else!

Update; it’s now been 18 months since my mom has passed, and we’re still waiting for the refund of her deposit. They are not transparent in how they apply the refunds. It seems like they can twist the contract to their advantage, and there is no time limit on this. If you are even considering this place to spend the rest of your life, get a lawyer! It’s been said that they now have a stable staff on board? In my 14 years of experience, staff was always in turmoil. Agency nursing is their go to especially at night. These temp nurses and CNA’s have little experience and are not familiar with your loved one, and therefore don’t know how to care for them. Yes, this place is attractive on the outside, but what counts is what goes on in the inside, and it’s not pretty!

Well, we’re now at 31 months and counting. Still no refund and no communication as to how they are dealing with the people on their list. I started at #12 and I’m now at #3, and there has been no movement for about 6 months. There are 3 types of abuse, physical, mental, and financial. The Village has checked all three boxes.

If anyone knows a good contract lawyer, please let me know! If you think this can’t happen to you, think again!

Ok, now 35 months and still counting. Have not heard a word from the Village since February. They usually send monthly updates which could mean another turnover of personnel, they have lost track, or maybe “The check is in the mail”? I’m sure they are going through their list of excuses and have run out! If you don’t want this to happen to you, go to a lawyer and have them look for loopholes in their contract. I promise you they were there 4 years ago and may still be there. They not only can keep the interest on my Mom’s money but there is no ceiling on the time frame which they must comply. So do your due diligence on the math to determine how much of your money they can hold and can wait until eternity to pay you back. Don’t fall victim to this scam, go somewhere else! **Three years now, RIDICULOUS!! They keep earning...

It has been 11+ years since my parents moved to The Village. It was an experience beyond our every imagination! My father was MOST reluctant about moving and was furious that "they" did not know how to cut lemons: they were sliced, not quartered! As soon as The Village know of his issue, they changed how the lemons were cut! He enjoyed singing in the choir at church, so he reluctantly went to choir practice and was overwhelmed with the community and the joy in singing! Every time they performed, I was dutifully on the front row and he was proudly singing away! I thought my Mom had died and gone to Heaven! She enjoyed swimming, daily cards, exercise, vespers and community! She immediately ran to be on the Board and was diligent in her work to make The Village the best place for all to enjoy! Mom and Dad were originally in a Villa and hd community with all the Villa people! They would gather for dessert, games and croquet on a regular basis! We made the decision to move Mom and Dad to a two bedroom apartment as Mom's health was faltering and we wanted Dad to be fully situated. Man plans and God laughs as Dad died one day after they had moved! The Village stepped in to fully help in the move and to support all of us! Mom got fully adjusted and continue to flourish for 6+ more years! When she would go to the hospital, she would complain that the desserts were not placed on doilies as the Village does. Whatever Mom's capabilities were, The Village continued to provide her with entertainment and care. Yet, the greatest gift was all of the faculty and staff! They genuinely loved Mom and cared for her! If she needed chicken salad a certain way, they would provide it! Both of my parents have not died. I can honestly say: Their lives were better, enriched and lengthened because of The Village and their support! I can honestly say: I miss my Village people! They were generous in their love to not only our Mom and Dad, but also to all 7 of their children, 24 grands and 40 great grands now! I have laughed as I have thought: Mom genuinely believed that Heaven would not be as good as The Village, which is why she lived to be 95 3/4 years old. I hope she was not disappointed when she got there! In looking back on the decision we all made for them to move to The Village, I would do it in a New York second! My only regret is that they did not go sooner! Grace...

This was a great place for dad to be as long as he was able to be in the independent side and socialize with friends. Once he had to be moved to assisted, we were not happy with the care he received. He had dementia and on two separate occasions, lab people came in at 2 am to draw blood from him. He was obviously aggressive with the nurse and they called me to complain about his behavior. What person wakes up someone with dementia in the middle of the night to take blood?? Nursing staff changed a lot and I feel like that was a big part of the problems we had. His apartment wasn’t kept clean unless I complained. They told his friend who would come to take him downstairs to eat that it was her responsibility to dress and clean him up if she wanted it done by a certain time (she was 92). Families spend a small fortune to have their loved one cared for by the best people possible, and I truly don’t feel like that happened. We ended up moving him to Baptist Hospice in Collierville after a hospital visit and that’s the best decision we made. One last note, be sure you understand the refund policy for the buy-in money. You will not get your 90% of the buy in money refunded until they sell another unit of the type you bought into. We were on a list behind 3 people to get our money and it took...
