TL;DR - My PC wasn't being very cash money, took it to Cooper and Dominic and now it's very cash money.
Let me start by saying no one wants to have work done on their PC. But these guys make the process an absolute breeze, and their knowledge and experience is unmatched and couldn't be more helpful and willing to answer any and all questions. My experience with both Dominic and Cooper couldn't have been better, and I am positive that anyone you could have help you with anything you need would do amazing work. Their prices are fair, transparent, and even the shop itself has a great and inviting atmosphere. Fellas, thank you for everything. You guys have earned my business and if anyone in the surrounding areas ever needs any help, or wants to buy/build a PC, I will absolutely be sending them your way. Cheers, boys.
My PC started having issues a week ago, and after exhausting all my options and troubleshooting I could muster, I decided that I needed help. Cooper was quick to get me in with some advice, and told me to bring my PC in if I got to my wits end (which was pretty quick, not gonna lie.) I brought my rig in, they took a look at it and all of us wondered how exactly I had managed to mess it up as bad as I had (I hadn't, more on that later). They gave me the good, the bad, and the ugly and exactly what my roadmap was on getting the issue fixed. They were transparent about every single thing they would do, and even stopped to ask if I had any questions. This is where Dominic took over my repairs/replacements. I gave them my PC and got word back shorty thereafter that my issue was not necessarily my doing, but a faulty piece of hardware that would've gone out soon-ish anyways. Dominic gave me options, pros and cons, advice, and I decided to replace a few parts in my PC that would ultimately make for a better user experience and perform better than it had previously. I picked up my PC today and Cooper went over everything with me, from confirming all parts worked as intended, showing me test results and walking me through some setup information. My PC is now back home and working...
Read moreI really wanted to like Meta PCs. The idea of helping a local company appeals to me. But, unfortunately, my experience with them has been awful.
I bought one of their prebuilt laptops from their website in mid-December 2024 and showed up at their store to pick it up. They were putting on the finishing touches, and as I was walking out, they let me know they sold me the floor model. That certainly wasn't something we discussed, but I left the store with it anyway.
Immediately, I noticed an atrocious battery life. The computer would not last 45 minutes on battery doing pretty standard stuff. I emailed them about it, and let them know that I had been given a floor model without disclosing it. They agreed to replace it with a new device, and did so.
I got the new device and realized quickly that the battery life was still terrible. I just accepted that it was something I was going to have to deal with.
I will give them credit here as they followed up several times to make sure the computer was working well. I had to restart it often and the battery life was still terrible. I wasn't using it much and basically just left it on a shelf because using it was such a hassle.
Fast forward to April, and I started having issues with the internet on the device, issues that were not present on any of the seven or eight other laptop computers in my home. I reached out around April 29, and its May 25 with no response. Eventually about two weeks later the issue just went away one day, so I haven't really pressed the issue. I had tried almost everything I could think of to fix it to no avail, and then one day, it just started working again.
Today, I started working on a development board to test some firmware I was working on and noticed that none of the USB ports are working. I've restarted, checked everything I can check, and nothing. They are dead.
I've noticed ready to build laptops have disappeared from the website, so maybe they know there is a problem. But I sure wish they would...
Read moreLet me give you the whole story. I usually build my own pcs but I don't have a lot of time or the patience right now to do all the research it takes to make sure you are getting components that are going to be a good match with each other. The last one I built was 7 years ago and it runs great but it will not upgrade to win11. I have been going back and forth as to whether I should build or buy a pre built system. Whether I should take the time and aggravation of building or spend the extra money to buy a pre built system. I looked into local companies because I don't want to have one shipped. I ran across META pcs and saw they had good reviews and they had a showroom on my way home from work so I decided to stop by and see what they were about. I explained to the salesman my dilemma. When I told him I was impressed that they had hundreds of reviews on Google and stood at a solid 5.0 he said the reason for that is because they have great customer service and they take great care in making sure all the components will work well with each other so there won't be problems down the road with finicky hardware. These are the two things that sold me. Also, even though they only have a 1 year warranty on parts, they have lifetime labor and support. I called them for support a couple days after bringing it home (it was just a minor configuration issue) and was very impressed with how much they really seemed to care about making sure I was taken care of. Cooper took very good care of me and I ended up with the impression that if I ever needed help they would have my back. This is huge! My computer is flawless. Beautifully put together and fast as hell. I am not always the easiest to impress but I have to say that I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I could not have built a PC this nice. They really know what they are doing....
