I usually don't write reviews for stores or businesses, however this place deserves a special place in my heart. I've gone hear countless of times with my Dad, Mom, Aunty, even my Grandmother and Grandfather. Despite my love and hate relationship between this place especially for their prices, their overall selection and image is extremely well, countless of a mix of modern and old.
Enough of that, even though I doubt anyone would actually care to read this, I've been shopping here since I was exactly 9 years old, during the separation between my parents I was horribly depressed, I hated staying at home, in fact I prefer being at school instead. I still remember my first visit here, it felt like a dream, 9 year old introverted me was sparked to death seeing all of the vintage toys, video games, alongside the whole line of Pokemon cards behind a long glass table. I was shocked that such a place like this even existed, especially as someone who couldn't get along with most people. if I can remember one of the first things I bought here with my Dad was Gumby action figures, both Gumby and Pokey, sadly Pokey's legs were all worn out and broken, I still thought it was cool though
As most obsessions exist and forerver go on, of course I wouldn't stop buying a bunch of Gumby figures and toys. I still remember buying a Gumby and Pokey plushies, I still have them in my room displayed on my shelf, I truly love these really. Not only I bought and collected toys, I had a huge interested in Robot Chicken and made my own little sketches and ideas for a little while. Besides that, I was mainly into video game consoles and older titles, I've spent a lot of my money on Super Nintendo games, Nintendo Power magazines, etc etc.
I've taken long breaks from this place of course, I've recently been able to reach out to there quite often now, usually every thursday or anytime during the week I look at the wall of Star Wars Black Series action figures, many I want, many I cannot buy without going into debt lol. Despite all of that I generally love and adore this place a lot.
All in all, TriForce Collectibles has a place in my early years, it truly helped me during a hard and stressful part of my life. Thank you all that are able to keep operating this wonderful...
Read moreSo I tried to do trade for my games for store credit. I put in one of my rare games and in with the other games. I thought they would take most but the person their didn't. He only noticed my expensive items and wasn't willing to take some of my average price games. So then I said how much for the games he picked which were 5 of them he said 40 bucks which is less than 50 percent than the value of the games he picked. One of the games I had was like a 100 dollar value so I thought he would at least do 50 percent. Then I said I'll keep my 100 dollar game and he can take the rest then he said no only all together for 40. Obviously this is a rip off place don't go here to trade games. They over charge their rare ones by like 50 to 100 bucks. I bet if I gave them my rare game they'd sell it for 120. Then they try lying about how much my games go even though price chart (website that looks at every games value) would contradict them otherwise. If I was game store I would give at least 70 percent of the value of game cause I'd still make profit. This is a rip off business for trading games go to fallout games or zia records they'd give you at least 50 percent value. Heck even I would give someone 70 percent of the value for anyone that has old video games. This place is a rip off avoid selling...
Read moreThat last review I read about the worst service is defenelty true. I got to interact with the owner, I believe, at Phoenix Fan Fusion. When I asked about maybe working with him on the price for a few items by $40 dollars I was met with "well it's the first day of the convention". And then when I went to make small talk he interrupted me with "And if I don't sell it, it's just going to go back into my shop." What a horrible way to talk to a new customer, and a horrible attitude to have as a seller. Keep in mind I did not believe I was "lowballing" him or anything like that, I simply was hoping to make a deal at a convention and add a few things to my collection. Luckily I did not move forward with the sale and was able to find at least one of the items for cheaper from another vender. I have no interest in going to this store or ever interacting with the workers ever again there. Luckily store like Collectors Marketplace and Samurai Comics are much more welcoming.
Edit- He remembers me, no surprise that this grumpy owner has one of the lowest reviewed collectable store in the valley. The constant reviews talking about the interactions with the employees could never be more true. Also I have no interest in going to the store to "hash it out like men". Just leaving my honest...
