Okay I'm taking a second................................. I really struggled to write this review. Not because I didn't like this place but because I LOVED it!! I really loved it!! I don't give many five stars and this place deserves that and more. This coffee shop is located right in downtown Glendale. When you walk into this place you feel the cool atmosphere. So many different white and black art on the walls (picture perfect for your social platforms). Cozy and open sitting areas along with a sitting outdoor patio. Ordered an Americano, pumpkin spice cappuccino, brown sugar latte and a blue berry muffin. All items did not disappoint. This coffee lover was happy! The service was excellent. Speaking to the barista she mentioned they offer karaoke Friday nights. Not only do they offer coffee but they also offer wine and beer. Finally!! Downtown Glendale got it right having this place. Cool, modern, inviting! Like I said before, I really wanted to keep this hidden gem to myself. But I would not make it fair for the coffee shop or anyone else who sees and appreciates my reviews. Do yourself a favor, run to The Black Sheep and get your dose of coffee, wine or beer. I hope your experience is just as enjoyable...
Read moreI was unaware that this is an organic "niche" coffee shop when agreeing to go, so I have to write my review based on what they specialize in. The shop was cute with plenty of seating. The staff were kind and helpful. The menu had many concoctions to satisfy any palate, including sugar and gluten free. The only reason for the 4 stars was they do not offer decaffeinated coffe due to the price of the beans and shipping. Since they only use one specific bean it is not an option in their shop. They do offer many delicious pastries! I got the lemon amd blueberry muffin, which was very similar to a Costco muffin. You can't go wrong there! For a drink I had the raspberry tea amd sweetened it with Stevie, the only non-sugar option. It wasn't bad but not something I would go back for. Again, this is a niche, organic shop so please take that into account when going. I'm not into organic so cannot do this place justice in a review. This place needs reviews from those who live an organic lifestyle and need this...
Read moreLove the general feel of this place. Good vibes, kind servers, calm environment. Breakfast items are what you'd expect.
But I have to be honest, the espresso macchiato I had here was really bad. I don't know if it's just the espresso machine they use, or poor quality grinds, but their espresso shots are EXTREMELY bitter.
This won't affect most people as sugary lattes are more popular these days, and it's difficult to even find coffee shops that know how to make a traditional macchiato. I do appreciate that the baristas at least knew how to make one and put on the effort. But I nearly spit out the drink back into my cup as a knee-jerk reaction, it was far too bitter.
If you're looking for more traditional espresso drinks, this place needs to step up the quality of their shots a bit. But if you aren't a coffee snob and just want your standard sugary flavored lattes, you could do much worse...
