This is by far.. my favorite comic store in Az. And I have been to as many as Phoenix has to offer. We have a few here.. from the cute little and very friendly Ash Ave comics in tempe, to fantastic world's in Scottsdale, dreadnaught comics, and Jesse James comics in North Phoenix, as well as Gotham city comics in mesa, samuari comics In central Phoenix and west valley, even surprise comics.. But, I truly think Ken and Susan and the entire staff at Drawn to comics in Old Town Glendale (58th Ave and Glendale Ave) have the best of everything. The staff offers great deals from 20 to 35 percent off comics to special events where customers are entered in weekly drawings. What makes this store (and Ash Ave) appeal to me is the super friendly staff. Drawn to Comics will and has gone out of their way to make you happy. I simply cannot say enough good things about this store and the staff. From, Ken, Susan, AC, Robert, Chris, and John.. they all go out of their way to help you find what you need and make sure to remember your name. This store carries everything from the newest weekly releases from DC, Marvel, Image etc.. as well as plenty of back issues to help you complete your run. They also have an upstairs where they have comic related toys and anime & manga. Besides comics they carry posters, comic supplies, graphic novels, statues, very old silver age key comics (like Avengers #8) and even quite the assortment of ratio and variant comic issues. Simply put, Drawn to Comics is everything a comic collector loves...
Read moreBy far the worst comic book store I've ever been to! I took part of my collection of comics (approximately 200) in to see what I could get for them and what a mistake it was to take them to this place! First I had to wait for a good 20 minutes before being properly greeted and assisted as the guy working (whom apparently is the owner) was busy with some kind of on-line sale or something, when he finally did get around to helping me he was still on the phone talking to someone while "helping" me. Halfway in to me trying to explain about my comics and what I was hoping to get for them I just stopped even trying to talk as he wasn't listening to a word I was saying, then after quickly & roughly thumbing through my comics, he must've mistakenly thought me to be hard up for cash or something because he had the nerve to insult me by offering me a measley $20 for over 200 comics! Were talking easily over $500 retail value at time of purchase! His reasoning was that he had more comics than he new what to do with so he didn't really need them. Hello! How about not purchasing comics if you don't need them instead of trying to take advantage of your potential customers just because you think they're at some sort of disadvantage cause they need/want cash. Anyway, it's safe to say I will never set foot in this...
Read moreWhat an amazing and gigantic store. Picture you’re a small child and you’re offered a tour of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Store (not the factory itself…) This is essentially the comic version without the danger of being turned into an inflatable blueberry.
Everyone in the store is super kind and knowledgeable, eager to help & educate, and the store itself seems to have events going on a regular basis. My fiancée and I were in there for our first time visit today and we both had such a great time. I was smiling ear to ear from the moment I saw their beautiful displays out front…
If you’re even remotely interested in comics… you’ve gotta check this place out.
UPDATE: Honestly, this store has ruined other LCS for me. It actually feels a bit depressing now shopping at any other comic store in the Valley because they all totally miss the warmth and vibrance of the staff that Drawn To Comics seems to uniquely have. People at DTC are genuinely happy to see you (even though it was literally just my second time in... they remembered us and chatted us up the entire time we were there) & they're all dripping with enthusiasm + love for comics.
Contrast that with literally any other comic store I've been in where you might be lucky enough to get a mild "welcome in"... Yeah... I'mma do all my...
