The actual store is great for the most part. This is a personal experience about furniture and also an observation on how The Depot treats their volunteers versus staff.
I was trying to buy a furniture piece one time. It was $25 and it came with cushions. Those cushions were not an actual part of the item. The chairs were plastic and were clearly meant to be cheap patio furniture, and the cushions were just something the original owners bought for comfort. They did not come with the original product. They had ties on the outskirts to show they belonged with (fancier) furniture. Even though they were for fancier furniture, they had mysterious brown stains that I everyone would hope is dirt but no one really knows. The patio chairs were also very dirty. I was fine taking them home to clean, but I donāt think they should be dirty and priced high. I asked if I could buy the chairs and not the cushions and lower the price and they said no. They ācame together.ā You could tell by the parts that it was blatantly not true. After asking some questions the guy said I could āre donate the cushions.ā After saying he could not sell them separately. Clearly you can if I can re donate them as a separate item. The whole encounter was rude and slimy.
They also have an actual chair cushion section of the store where I know the cushion would have been sold separately if I re donated after buying the chair without the cushion for full price.
Aside from that the worker who was running the register in the furniture section clearly needed help and I watched her request backup several times. After the other person was rude to me he didnāt bother helping that girl or getting her back up. He instead watched her suffer and proceeded to goof off with another customer.
I want to add that after the encounter I told him one of his employees needed help and where to find them and thatās where he proceeded to walk away and be done.
Obviously the furniture thing is slimy and dishonest to the clientele, but I was more disappointed in the staff treatment. Based off occupations I assumer the worker at the register is a volunteer and the guy with a badge gets paid.
The guy with the badge had time to be short with me but not help his own (or get backup) for his employees. I was also told by other customers that he rudely said āmove get out the wayā to help me only to actually in the end not help.
I wish that person working the register a good day and if you donāt pay them, give them something because no one helped them or cared. If thatās how they treat ALL their volunteers, I worry for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent in for the first time with my brother to find out they sold technology which I thought they only sold clothe but I was wrong. I went in the next day to see if they had some new and they did but they didnāt have the cable. I asked them for it but they just kept looking at the paper attached to it and kept telling me I donāt know honey it just says power cord, keyboard, and mouse. I had already bought it and they let me refund it without even helping me find the cord. I came home and was bummed so I had called and luckily someone who cared answered I believe it was Beth. (So Beth if your ready this thanks!). She told me the cord was suppose to come with it but it didnāt then later got in contact with me that they have found it and she threw it in for free which Iāll never forgetā¤ļø. May seem like a irrelevant rating but just comes to shows how the ones selling it didnāt care but the one that wasnāt there cared more if it wasnāt her job to. Thanks Beth, will forever be thankful. I wouldāve left a tip but she wasnāt present at the time and more than likely not accept it since it was ānothingā for her but for me...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove shopping here. GREAT items low prices. I always shop the colored tag sale. So males the price even better. The one thing I don't like is when it is 15 till closing time they flick the lights on and off and yell. To let you know they will be closing IN 15 MINUTES. Totally understand this is to get people out of there by 5. However some of the workers are very rude when doing this. This flicking the lights could very easily make some one who already has issues go into a seizure. Some are so rude and come by yelling that you need to go to the register at 15 till. These are the payed people not the volunteers. They are only open from 12 to 5. So not like they have slaved away a 8 to 12 hr shift. Yes they close at 5 but no reason to get all uproared unless it's like 5 till 5 and people aren't in line. I just see it totally ridiculous. Again it is only some of them who...
