Those who like visiting retrofit buildings with unique stores and are bored of visiting strip malls and giant stores, this is a pleasant complex of historic buildings that were once used to create bags. This is a historic building, very well connected by roads and if you're visiting with family or kids, this should be on your must see places. I like to visit this place occasionally because I love the pottery section and the very interesting thrift store.
Some people may be averse to visiting a thrift store, but if you don't want to shop that's okay. Because this place has some unique pieces that could be worth putting in a museum, I believe. This store has a separate entrance to the original bag factory building. The original building has three floors and a basement. The basement has a sandwich shop called shoppes down under. That is a separate review that you can find. It also has a mini library and some games... But things have been changing quite a bit, so they may have redone the sitting area.
The first floor has the furniture store (with lazy boys and other type of high end wood works) and few more things and it is connected to a pottery studio and shop. There are some wonderful pieces hand crafted, so you know they are unique and slightly expensive too. But it's good for gifting some decorative prices if you'd like. The same studio and some more artists also display and sell some of their works at the Saturday farmers market at Goshen.
The second floor has alot of shops, see images to know more and they have recently changed a few shops. For kids, you must come and see the toy train museum but during covid it is closed. The guy who sits inside is very knowledgeable and if you have any trains related question, I'm sure he can answer you. The third floor is bread and pudding catering and events. There's nothing for visitors really. We just randomly walked in because the name is so tempting but they were busy getting the space ready for a wedding and we just slowly stepped down to the lower level. They also have a 10-15 passenger elevator connecting all levels.
There is no wifi ofcourse and there's plenty of parking outside. There s plenty of empty space in the factory so don't think that you're lost or have reached an abandoned building! There are couple of separate buildings, an antiques store(always closed), a photography studio(closed seasonally I believe) and a sculpture studio (seldom closed). They also have a garden quilt tucked away on one side and there is no proper demarcation for it. Do ask if you're interested to see it before the winter sets in. Overall, enjoy your time! And follow me if you'd like to know about more places...
Read moreMy husband and I got married here and had the reception. The place is so beautiful. The staff was actually very cold and testy until my actual wedding day. On the day of my wedding they had extra staff that were very friendly and very helpful though. They did walk into my bridal sweet while I was getting ready to let some strangers look at the room. I really did not appreciate that, there was no warning or permission so at least everyone was decent. It took the venue usually between 3 and 4 days to respond to my emails and calls unless I really continue to send the emails or keep calling. I was disappointed in the actual care of us. I feel like they did not take my husband and I seriously. We look a lot younger then what we are and I’m not sure if that had something to do with it, or if it was just the lady who helped us, like I said the other staff were very kind and very helpful on the actual wedding day. The “other staff” we only met at our rehearsal dinner quickly and on our wedding day though. All in all I loved my wedding. I did not feel very taken care of , but the place was so beautiful and the food was amazing. People to this day ( 2 Years later) still talk about how great the food was! The place really is great set up. They set up the tables and provide the food which I thought was really amazing! So I am still very happy that we chose this place and maybe (hopefully!) the staff has...
Read moreGot a massage for the first time at this location. massage was more of a touch or petting touch. Not a massage at. Massage was for 30 minutes. We got started almost 10 minutes after my appointment time. (I was there 20 minutes early, I was not late) lady doing massage checked her phone two times during the massage. I didn’t get my entire 30 minutes I paid for. Sadly, I won’t be back. I was referred here by a coworker. Lady was nice that did massage but not very professional...
