We purchased a refrigerator from High Country to keep our business local. 1 week after we purchased the appliance, Home Depot and Lowe’s had the same refrigerator at $500 less. I let Clancy know and after three weeks he got back to me and offered $200 discount and then asked if we could modify the delivery date, and we agreed. The refrigerator was delivered and damaged during delivery. The kind delivery guys told me that the doors or the refrigerator would be replaced and not to worry - they took photos and submitted on their app. I had to call Clancy nearly a week later to ask what was going on. He initially offered $175 as a settlement and I said no. He reluctantly agreed to replace the doors and set a repair date. He then texted me and asked to move the repair date up, so I had to have my wife drive up from Denver to take the repair. At 915am, 45 minutes before the repair was scheduled, Clancy called to tell me that they would not be able to replace the doors because the newer version (apparently new within a couple of weeks of purchase) had doors that would no longer work and that he had gotten authorization from management to give me $200 as a settlement. Again, I said this was not acceptable and that I would prefer to just have the unit replaced. Clancy said that was not possible and my only option was to accept the settlement. I asked to speak with the manager - and was told that would not be possible, but after insisting I spoke with Jeanie Strange who told me that the installers reported that the damage was an open box defect and not during Delivery. So my response was that either the damage occurred during install (likely) or it was a known defect and that the installers failed to inform me of it and installed the refrigerator anyway (not likely becuse they were surprised nor was it documented). Some how that is my fault!?!? and no option other than take $200 as a settlement for a damaged product?!?! I asked to speak with the owner and was told that the owner would call me - so far that has not happened nor have I heard back from Clancy, Jeanie or anyone. It’s very disheartening to try and support a local business with such poor and disrespectful service. My wife spent a day driving up from Denver and that was time she missed from work. My advice is buy from Home Depot or Lowe’s and get same product, better service and...
Read moreI contacted High Country Appliances about installing a new dishwasher in my small condo kitchen. We worked together and found one that would fit the small space, and they delivered it about a week later. Upon unpacking, they noticed a large dent in the side of the dishwasher and brought it to my attention, but we didn't think it would cause any problems. I had a guest coming to stay the weekend in the condo, and couldn't wait for a new dishwasher to be delivered, so I OK'd the install. Unfortunately, shortly after the dishwasher was installed, it wouldn't drain water. I called High Country to tell them the new dishwasher was broken, expecting I would have to tell my guest to do dishes by hand until the new washer was delivered. But Jeanie searched their inventory, found another dishwasher that would fit, and the crew delivered and installed it the next day before my guest arrived....
