Really wonderful book store in the farthest corner of the Keweenaw. Terrific children's section, YA, poetry, local authors and information, you name it. Also - the Simple Pleasures Book Club meets regularly for "dark chocolate and stimulating discussion" - count me in!

An incredible little bookstore in the middle of nowhere. The titular grandpa was very friendly and personable. The store isn’t huge but they had a good selection of modern fiction, local authors, and a great children’s selection, would absolutely stop back in!

Grandpa's Barn was created because this guy started collecting so many books his wife said he had to do something with them..šŸ˜„

We've visited Grandpa's Barn several times while vacationing in Copper Harbor MI.

It has a lovely atmosphere, great books and friendly helpful staff. All which encourage you to choose great books and read. I nearly had to physically drag my youngest daughter out of the barn earlier this week. The bookseller found it amusing as did all of us.

As we left the Barn, saying goodbye to the wonderful bookseller, we stumbled onto the back pastures and trails behind the Barn.

We found a room made of trees in which to paint. We found a reading room with chairs, a hammock and chaises to read, a small round pond with a tiny round island in the middle (we named it "Donut Hole Island") and ran into some friendly horses who gave us a thrill simply by noticing us.

We walked for what seemed like a few miles, labeling wildflowers and avoiding a bit of poison ivy and horse poop and eventually found our way back to Grandpa's Barn and eventually to our cabins.

A wonderful adventure, books in hand,...

Grandpa's Barn is what a book store should be: cozy, friendly, and filled to the brim with books. With cookbooks, field guides, fiction, non-fiction, local stories, and a huge variety of children's books, it has something for everyone. The owner and staff are all very kind, but also well read, so they give great suggestions! The antiques and art through the shop are added element of fun in the store. I definitely recommend stopping in if you're in...

The owner was really nice. Even though it's a small building, there were a lot of books šŸ“š. There's also puzzles and post cards. Homemade book markers. Not just Indian published books. Theres a variety of books including, cook books, and fantasy books. I found the Hatchet in this little store. Theres no internet or cellphone service in the whole town. Try to...
