We've visited Grandpa's Barn several times while vacationing in Copper Harbor MI.
It has a lovely atmosphere, great books and friendly helpful staff. All which encourage you to choose great books and read. I nearly had to physically drag my youngest daughter out of the barn earlier this week. The bookseller found it amusing as did all of us.
As we left the Barn, saying goodbye to the wonderful bookseller, we stumbled onto the back pastures and trails behind the Barn.
We found a room made of trees in which to paint. We found a reading room with chairs, a hammock and chaises to read, a small round pond with a tiny round island in the middle (we named it "Donut Hole Island") and ran into some friendly horses who gave us a thrill simply by noticing us.
We walked for what seemed like a few miles, labeling wildflowers and avoiding a bit of poison ivy and horse poop and eventually found our way back to Grandpa's Barn and eventually to our cabins.
