Is this cold weather making you daydream about a trip to Mexico? You don’t have to get on a plane to scratch that itch! Okay, okay - there’s no beach and it’s not magically 85 degrees - but there’s *everything* else you need to fulfill your fantasy. The tacos are to.die.for. Seriously, I could eat the carne asada tacos EVERYDAY. Grab a Jarrito to wash them down and you’ll feel like you walked away from the best taco truck in PV. If you’d rather cook (not me) - you can grab raw meat, chicken, or pork out of the deli case and whip up a fiesta in your kitchen. Need spices? Check! Need a gourmet hot sauce you can’t find anywhere else? Check! Need the ingredients for yummy side dishes? Check? How about some fresh Pan Dulce (Mexican sweet breads) for dessert? Check and check! AND, if you’re looking for home decor or gifts - they’ve got that too! Don’t forget a piñata for your kid’s birthday party! The staff are all wonderful, too! 😉

Fantastic food. We went in this morning to get a breakfast burrito. We have found that it is hard to find a good breakfast burrito in town that doesn't break the bank. Their breakfast burritos are amazing. From the authentic flavors to being cooked perfectly. We were excited to see so many new options of ingredients to try as well. Our family loves making Mexican food at home but often cannot find the ingredients needed. This store is a new family favorite. Please remember to shop local and help support this wonderful new addition to our community.

We enjoyed our first visit this morning. When you walk in you can't help but smile. This place is fun! Our breakfast burritos were awesome. The staff is great. Bought a real cool metal Agave for the yard, very colorful! We will definitely be going back. Lunch from El Barrio today. Excellent! Added this cool cactus to our "El Barrio" collection. We just finished some fantastic tamales and got our newest cactus decorated for the holidays. Thank you El Barrio, we're still giving you 5 stars!

For starters let me say I have a large family so when we want Mexican it can get expensive. We usually buy the meat already cooked from other places for about the same price as what this place charges. 12.99lb. Only this place charges 12.99lb before they cook it so I end up with 3.5 pounds of meat for 70 dollars. I've never paid that much anywhere else ever. That is crazy. Now this is the second time I've ordered from them the first time I ordered I asked for 5 pounds they weighed it and charged me for just over 4 pounds about 53 dollars and change. This time the lady brings me to the front register and charges me 70 dollars and some change when my food was ready I asked how much does it weigh well I only get 3.5 pounds this time for a mush higher price. Unfortunately I will not be back. They have a good flavor meat but I will not ever pay that price for meat again I feel ripped off I asked one lady say she rang me up wrong the first time and the second lady says that's how they charge before they cook it I would understand the price if I were charged properly the first time I would not have came back the second time. There will not be a third time. So for 70 I get 3.5 pounds. 70÷3.5=20. So 20lb is what I...

Amazing burritos, and I'm literally the pickiest person in Nevada County when it comes to Mexican food, because I grew up in Austin, Texas. If you know, you know.

Breakfast burrito is to die for and big enough to share. The burrito with everything is amazing. Their fried beef and chicken tortas are off the charts good. Their fresh marinated meats to be taken home and cooked are also amazing. My only complaint is the marinated beef contains way too many tough, unchewable pieces, that still taste amazing, but yeah, I like to be able to chew up the meat that I'm eating (this is really common in Mexican food for some reason.) The owners are super friendly folks and great community members. So glad...
