Yuba Blue — Local services in Grass Valley

I’m really disappointed with my experience at Yuba Blue. They knowingly sell dresses from the brand Angie, which even their own staff admitted is “quantity over quality.” Every single one of the dresses I bought shrank so badly after one gentle wash (literally washed on a gentle cycle, cold water, no heat, dried on delicate) that they’re now multiple sizes too small and completely unwearable.

When I called to ask about it, the woman on the phone told me that I should have followed the care instructions on the inside tag apparently, even the water temperature can change how much they shrink. Honestly, I think it’s ridiculous that clothing at this price point is so cheaply made that it requires that much special treatment just to avoid becoming unwearable.

I don’t usually spend much money on clothes, but I saved up and splurged on these dresses for myself. Now I feel like I wasted my money on low-quality items that should never have been sold at this price in the first place.

I was visiting from the east coast for a wedding and spending some time window shopping in Grass Valley when I stumbled upon this store. The employees were so kind and incredibly helpful. Their selection of items was so diverse from clothing to shoes to jewelry, bath items and beyond. I found the cutest, most unique shoes here! All the ladies at the store are so friendly. You can tell that they love their job, and that makes the experience so much more enjoyable for the customer. I just wish they had a way to purchase their merchandise online! Fun and funky store! It’s basically 3 different stores in one. There’s housewares, clothing and beauty. There’s so much to see and all of it unique that you could spend hours discovering new and cool stuff. The clothing side is really expensive ($140 for a skirt) and the sizes run very small!! The staff is always very nice and helpful, but the girls in the clothing section tend to hover like you’re about to shop thrift everything, makes for a very nerve racking and uncomfortable shopping experience.
