Darling State of Mind — Local services in Graymoor-Devondale

This is a very cute store with the potential to do great business, but my experience was not so cute... I was shopping for a gift for a friend's birthday a while back and I was told DSM was a great place to buy gifts. When I came into the store no one greeted me and I just got weird stares from associates. All of the associates were congregating in the back of the store near the cashwrap. I was in there for a substantial amount of time looking around and no one ever asked if they could help me. I believe I was one of two customers in the store and there were about three associates working. I was only ever spoken to when I came to check out. As someone who is a retail manager themselves, this is just really sad to me. I realize I may not be someone who they would deem their "target customer", but no one should feel that unwelcome in the store. I would be greatly upset and embarrassed if I or one of my team members did this to a customer at our store. If you want to do good business, especially as a smaller local retailer, please remember to put your customers first. I did end up buying something that day, (because I needed a gift) but I will not be back to this store nor will I recommend...

Thank you for giving me such an enjoyable shopping experience! After weeks of searching for a cobalt blue dress for Thurby I finally found the perfect dress here at the Westport Village location. Sam was so helpful, sweet, and helped me find the perfect dress. I think it’s worth mentioning that I went into other stores previously and they did not greet me or offer help. As many ladies know Derby season is ultra stressful and we may need suggestion when finding the perfect outfit. Sam immediately greeted me, asked if I needed help, and gave me multiple dress choices! I came in here today after trying on probably every dress in another store and not having a ton of luck. I needed a dress for a special occasion, and I wanted something that made me feel good and that was flattering. I found multiple options at Darling State of Mind and was very happy with the dress I ended up purchasing. To make things even better, their prices are extremely reasonable.
