Hurt, angry, violated, and mad only begin to describe my disappointment with the Fleming's shop. I took an incredibly fine piece/family heirloom for a mere quote on Possibly altering it. I was advised that they would hold onto it until the jeweler could examine it in order to determine if what i was thinking could be done in order to give me an accurate $ estimate. I even told Ron to not alter it and to take very good care of it because I was nervous about leaving it in their possession. I received a voicemail of the quote/estimate but by that time had decided I did Not want to alter it in any way whatsoever. I went to go pick it up and Upon arrival to the shop I was informed that they had already cut and dismantled the ring WITHOUT CONSULTING ME OR ASKING MY PERMISSION FIRST. My family had been going to this jewelry store for my whole life so I felt like I could trust them with a family heirloom, but my grandmother's ring (that was both incredibly sentimental and an extremely fine piece of jewelry) now has so many visible imperfections after they "reassembled" it. i.e., you can see where each cut was made on the ring and where it was soldered/welded back together so poorly - there is a glob of metal on one side that doesnt match the color of the rest. The ring itself is smaller by atleast a 1/2 size, there are indentations on the ring itself, and it is visibly misaligned. It will NEVER be the same and I'm completely heartbroken. Suffice it to say, I no longer trust this business and neither my family nor I will be seeking Fleming's jewelry...
