Donāt do business with this company using PayPalā¼ļø I made a purchase back in February but the items was no longer needed⦠Not only did they REFUSE to cancel my order when I called the store directly due to me using PayPal (despite it being AFTER the date they stated in the email that my order would be cancelled automatically!!!) But I been on a run around for WEEKS on getting refunded. First the customer service rep ( called the 1800#) told me Iāll be refunded and PayPal credited by the 15th of this month⦠here we are nearing the 19th and STILL no refund! So I called today ( the 1800# again) and this time the rep was confused as to ā who said I was going to get a refundā ummm what the hell do you mean??? I paid for something that I donāt have so somebody better give me a refund!!! PayPal was NO help, I sent them proof that my order was cancelled and that I never went to pick up the order but they sided with Jcpenny and stated that Jcpenny showed proof that I was refunded. So I ask PayPal to show me the proof then because if I was refunded, that means yāall was credited but yet Iām still paying installments??? Something not adding up!!! So with the rep I spoke to today he told me that a CHECK had to be cut to the billing address and that it hasnāt been made yet and told me that he put in for a new check to be sent to my billing address⦠I smell BULLSHIT!!! So now Iām disputing this with my bank, I will NEVER do business with this company or PayPal again because the way they run their business is VERY questionable!! Seek help and STOP playing with people money!!! Ā Ā Ā Read moreFIRE ALETA (or make her take classes on how to treat other people) I visited this JCPenney on June 7, 2025, with my mom and had a terrible experience with an employee named Aleta. She was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional from start to finish.
When a coupon didnāt apply, my mom pointed it out politely. Aleta immediately blamed her, insisting sheād scanned it correctly. Even when I showed her the receipt, she still denied the mistake. It wasnāt until my mom pointed it out on the screen that Aleta finally saw it, but she still refused to take responsibility. I even tried to ease the tension by saying maybe it was the systemās fault, but Aleta cut me off to say it wasnāt the system or her. It was somehow our fault?!
She snatched the receipt and coupon from our hands multiple times, tried to send me downstairs for a return because the manager was ātoo slow,ā and lied to the manager when she arrived. At the end I did confront her and told her to stop snatching paper from my hands or my mom's. As I walked away, Aleta started talking about me to other staff.
The worst part was how she treated my mom, who doesnāt speak English well. She was overwhelmed, talked down to, and blamed for everything. If I hadnāt been there, I feel like she would have treated my mother so much worse.
JCPenney needs to take this seriously. No one, especially someone vulnerable, should be...

Unfortunately one of the jeans I purchased still had a security tag left on it after I got home so I had to drive 20 minutes to come back the next day (so 40 minutes of extra driving for a simple thing). We had even talked about the security tags at check out and she confirmed they had been taken off. I spoke with her when I got back to get this removed and she confirmed that we had spoken about it and profusely apologized and wanted to make it right, calling a manager over right away. She was truly trying to do the right thing. The manager that came over sighed and rolled her eyes about the whole thing and did not speak a word to me until she went to get a gift card and I told her I lived too far away to come back and use a gift card. She seemed annoyed and told me a $5 gift card was all she could do for me. For the significant amount of driving I had to do a $10 refund to my CC used (on an almost $300 purchase...) seems sufficient.
