If I could give zero stars, I would. Medical negligence, failure to diagnose, and misdiagnosing, missing protocol deadlines, failure to treat, medication errors, they threatened my family for wanting a different hospital, and refused us to leave. Along with HIPPA violations from security guards, failure to monitor by the nurses, malpractice, EMTALA violation, and in my opinion false imprisonment. My family and I have never been treated with such disrespect. I have been to this hospital numerous times. I have trusted them with not only myself, but my daughter. They misdiagnosed a stroke, with no medical documentation to prove it. Which they refused to provide. And even if stroke was the correct diagnoses, they missed all the protocol deadlines for one. They held my elderly diabetic family member in a room with no water, no food, and no routine meds. In fact, after given a current medication list and verbally told what her routine meds are, the staff was still incompetent and refused to give meds because they “weren’t aware” of what meds she needed. Said patient was held there for about 16 hours with a nurse only checking on the patient about 3 times. They threatened insurance would not pay for her visit if they left, they personally told me she would die if she left. And they would not let her leave her room and forced her to sign an AMA form. Which is totally illegal. It is not the law to sign and AMA form. And totally against patients rights to threaten. When this patients daughter spoke of leaving AMA they removed and trespassed her from the hospital because she was “causing problems”. Her elderly mother cannot walk on her own, and elderly dad was left by himself to navigate the situation. This was almost, I believe in some kind of way elderly abuse. I the granddaughter had to go because while all of this was happening my father was admitted as well, which was the trespassed persons husband. There was complete lack of compassion, and humanity in those doors that night. They refused to transfer said patient even though her team of other doctors told them to. She required testing that Hancock was not equipped to do. Instead they held her there, I didn’t not see her given any meds, fluids, water, food. At this point she was there for over 12 hours. And they would not allow her the privacy to even shut her door. When I arrived, the security guards did not know who I was, how I was related, or even my name. And one in particular security guard breached all hippa violations in talking to me about her condition. And what took place prior too me arriving. And in his words, Hancock was holding her there because they were affiliated with the Mayo Clinic. That was his response. Even though the patient wanted to leave and/or transfer. They told her there was a 3-5 day waiting period and they would have to hold her in the ER for that long. They told us if she left insurance would not pay for her visit. They told me if she left (a nurse told me this) that she would die. They forced her to sign AMA papers before they would even let her out of her room. This hospital is not safe, this hospital is the worst healthcare experience we have ever had and had us scared for the endangerment of our loved ones life. Legal action will be taken. Our family is well known in Hancock county, and we have close relatives that are at the top of the board for this hospital. Please do not go here if you want your family members taken care of. It was an absolute nightmare. One that we do not...
Read moreMy name is Corey Allen Holmes , I was born at Hancock Regional Hospital in August 11th of 1979. Hancock Regional Hospital it's just a wonderful place right down the street but I can rely on whenever I I need a doctor. I never I've been sick enough to where I had to stay in the hospital room. Until September 12th . The ER was there for me I had an operation on my left foot on August 2nd of 2018. Reconstructive surgery what's going to fix my foot from being crooked due to a break that happened eight years prior. Dr. Andrew capsulas is my podiatrist, they operated on my foot and put 10 pieces of titanium in my left foot. I was excited to fix my foot in to make it nice and straight. The operation went well.
Why did I catch a staph infection from the operation but they were able to take care of that as well.
The ICU rooms are very comfortable with high ceilings and a spacious room for the nurse to work and you to relax in to get all.
And for the food the food is phenomenal. The breakfast to lunch the dinner it's all really really good the people are really nice.
I had a PICC line in my arm so I had to go to the hospital every day to get my antibiotics through a PICC line and the people and the nurses are very very good Dr. Vail was infectious disease doctor in he took very good care of me.
The emergency room is very clean and quick responses. I had to stop in there a few times due to the fact of lower back problems vs. Itis in my knee and my right hip.
In the past I've never stayed in the hospital before I built a lot of them Clarion North Clarion West Reed hospital, and Hendricks Hospital. I did the remodel in 2005 at the Hancock Regional Hospital in the emergency area and the third floor but I see you.
So from the experience of never staying in the hospital and having a chance to stay at the Hancock Regional Hospital was very nice.
The nurses bring you snacks what every morning they pass out a crisp newspaper. With the new beds and the help from the nurse aides I was able to go to the bathroom with my foot surgery. The bathrooms are complete and with a walk-in shower and a emergency button for the nurses just in case.
Both of my children was born in Hancock Regional Hospital in 2005 and in 2008 and they're very healthy strong and intelligent young boys.
Also the chaplain will come around to the Rouge and check on you and make conversation in case you needed to repent or have a prayer in need . Also the chapel it is helpful for those who are at work and visitors with fuse on both sides and a place where you can write your prayers.
When Ash Wednesday they won't have a intercom announcement stating that there is a chaplain and a time to celebrate Ash Wednesday when I was working there I was able to get ashes on my forehead.
Everything there is beautiful it's a very healthy place and surgery and in the gift shop there's all kinds of accessories you can have for your house or a gift for a loved one.
I know sometimes patients are not in the best mood and I appreciate their helpfulness 2 forgive when you are in the most pain and aren't in the best mood sometimes we make mistakes as people and we don't really get a chance to treat the doctor's or educated that wants to help us.
There is also greeters at the front door. If you need a wheelchair and a push they will gladly help with a revolving door and two handicap accessory doors on each side but is very helpful to Beasley...
Read moreUpdate: I have went to greenfield my whole life for doctors and even take my kids. I am not sure I will ever go back. So much misdiagnosis, so many uneducated doctors. My mom has been going here her whole life as well and they have failed her. They failed to diagnosis her with cancer until it was too late. So disappointed so many words I won't even speak of.. just disappointment and so much sadness.
The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the Billing department SUCKS! They are very rude when you ask questions or try to figure things out. You try to tell them something and they won't take your word for it. I think the older women in the billing department need a new job. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE BILLING SERVICE! I believe their names are Lisa and Nikki. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT PROBLEMS WITH YOUR BILLS OR IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH PEOPLES RUDE ATTITUDES!
2019 UPDATE: I was recently in the hospital and when I got there the nurse that was going to put in my IV into my hand blew my vein so she left the needle in my hand while trying to put a IV into the crease of my arm and then she went to pull the needle out of my hand and blood started to pour out she grabbed a gauze and wiped my running blood with it then she DROPPED it onto the floor and then bent down and picked up the same bloody gauze and as my boyfriend was telling her NOT to wipe my hand with that same bloody one that fell on the floor she continued to re wipe my hand with it even though it fell on the floor and she said it was still "sterile" she then got mad because my boyfriend got upset and he has family in the medical practice and he called them and they stated that was NOT something someone in the medical field should do. She started to yell at him because he told her she was wrong. Then while trying to hurry out of the room she got a cord tangled in my other IV line and almost ripped my new IV out of my arm and the other nurse had to tell her it was tangled. After talking to people letting them know what happened they promised it wouldn't be swept under the rug but the next day she was BACK AT WORK staring us down like a hawk. Her name is Julie and she is a older woman who NOBODY should have as their nurse in the labor and delivery section and the hospital didn't do or offer me...
