I have been a patient of this practice for 25 YEARS! I stated going when it was just one dentist and have watched them grow substantially, especially in the last decade. On one visit I observed staff struggle to keep up with growth and mentioned something in passing about staff workload during transition, out of kindness and concern. They were visibly overwhelmed and after decades of talking to these people at least twice a year, in actually cared!
Word of my concerning comment obviously made its rounds and it was not welcome. I donât think i mentioned a name but I did receive a âcrazyâ phone call from one of the employees that was obviously struggling to keep up when I was there, who felt I was referring to her, telling me to âmind my own businessâ. I apologized and brushed it off as a lesson learned.
As mentioned, for over 25 years, Iâve had cleanings, fillings, root canals, and everything in between at this practice. I have also referred countless friends and acquaintances. My husband also switched to this practice too, but only in recent years. I referred him and I didnât even know it was now considered a âfamilyâ account, especially since we were SEPARATED when I referred him!
He had 2 expensive procedures back to back, one he felt wad was questionable but he went with their advice. Insurance did not cover after multiple submissions because it wasnât deemed necessary. Iâm guessing he was right and he shouldnât have had the procedure but what was done, was done. He was making payments on the balance but they sent him to collections anyway. Not good, but it was his transaction and he was responsible for managing it.
Then I received the following notice via TEXT MESSAGE: âHello, Your family account at our office has been turned over to a collections company due to being unable to collect ââ balance. All future appointments have been removed from our schedule and we hope to see your family again in the future once the balance is paid. Thanks! -Friendly Dentistryâ
Well, thank you too, Friendly dentistry, for letting me know I had a family account, and solidifying exactly what Iâve observed over the last couple years. After 25 YEARS as a LOYAL patient, having referred dozens of people, and spending many, many thousands, I was carelessly cancelled as a patient for my husbands bill!
Friendly Dentistry has expanded beyond the caring practice I started going to and it has turned into a dentistry assembly line without a soul. The caring relationships theyâve established with their patients are just footnotes in a relational manager application and they donât give a hoot about their patients other than the $$. There many fantastic practices in the Triad. I recommend you seek elsewhere. Dr Clark would turn over in his grave if he knew!
I will be informing every single person Iâve ever referred to this practice and spreading our experiences far and wide.
And just so we are clear, I do not care to see the patented âsorry youâve had this experienceâŚwe care about our patientsâ, response.to this review: I refuse to be gaslit into believing this practice cares about anything...
Read moreI donât even know where to begin. I had an inflamed gum that grew over my wisdom tooth and was extremely painful while talking or chewing. I let it go for three days with Orajel and Tylenol. When I realized it wasnât going to fix itself, I called Friendly Dentistry in the morning, frantically worried about fixing this problem before I head out on a 2 week work trip. Emily helped me set up a same day appointment and was very understanding, helpful, and professional. I walked in and instantly felt comfortable in the modern waiting room and they even have a fridge with complementary bottled water. The facility itself was very clean and all instruments were up with the times. Jodi, my hygienist, was very polite and provided great conversation which doubled as a fantastic distraction from this stressful situation. She took pictures and X-rays of the infected area for the Dr. to review. She introduced me to Dr. Burton, repeating word for word what I told her about myself, showing she listened and was glad to have met me. Dr. Burton himself has an extreme skill that I am very grateful for. His calm and polite demeanor along with his steady hands made the giant numbing needle going into my gums feel like a mere mosquito bite. He took his time during the procedure, sizzling out pieces of gum with a laser until he sculpted my gum back to how it should be, like a modern day Michelangelo. He even took time out of his night to text and see how I was doing and if I had any questions, a promise he made before leaving and he followed through. I respect that. They described recovery would be as if I burnt my gums on hot pizza, a feeling I am all too familiar with, and that is exactly how itâs been. I was able to eat dinner for the first time in 3 days and the recovery pain is bare minimal. It feels like fresh life has been put back in to me after so much pain and suffering night and day. After accepting me as a brand new patient, understanding the pain level, and providing same day treatment along with the entire pleasant experience, I will become a long time patient for cleanings and checkups. After my wife heard about my success story, she is convinced to change dentists. Friendly Dentistry not only has their name because they are off of Friendly Ave, but they have earned it with their kindness, generosity, and professionalism. Special thank you to everyone at...
Read moreI was not planning on leaving a review for the horrible service that I received in July 2023, but since Iâm now being hit up for money from an âunpaidâ insurance claim, and can add fraudulent behavior to their bad service I decided to go ahead and leave the review.
I went to Friendly Dentistry in July 2023, and saw Dr Blue after she was highly recommended. I had not been to the dentist in many many years so I was apprehensive, nervous, and worried about my teeth. I knew that I would need extensive work, and I knew that I had a couple of teeth that would need more urgent care. I do have dental anxiety but I do not like laughing gas, twilight, etc and prefer to manage my anxiety with being treated like a human being and by being told what is happening through each stage. Dr Blue was rude, dismissive, judgmental, and argumentative. She basically made it very clear that she would not do any work on my teeth if I did not have laughing gas or sedation, and passed me off shortly after to a âsurgeon dentistâ who would âperform all the work on one quadrant of my mouth at the same time under sedationâ (to the tune of $3,500). She made me feel embarrassed, and dismissed everything I said. At one point when she was saying that I would HAVE to have sedation, I said âOkay, I see that your recommendation; but isnât it MY choice to have that or not?â, and she literally said âNot in this case, I will refuse to work on you.â
The LACK of compassion, kindness, etc actually made me so hesitant to go back to a dentist that I waited another year before finding an amazing dentist who works with me, cares about me, and doesnât judge me.
I also paid a $100 co-pay at my visit and was told by the office staff that it would be applied to my visit. Now they are trying to tell me that my insurance didnât cover the visit and that I still owe $140. They never applied the $100 payment, and charged me erroneously and now I am having to fight with collections, and work with an insurance carrier that I no longer have to get this sorted. If I could give this practice zero stars, I...
