Sushi and Ramen lovers in Greenville, NC—Noodle Mania is the spot you’ve been waiting for!
If you’re searching for the best sushi and ramen restaurant in Greenville, look no further than Noodle Mania. While calling any restaurant’s sushi “the best” might be subjective, the presentation here is unmatched. You can clearly tell that every roll is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the ratios of fish to other ingredients are perfect—none of the skimping you might find at other sushi spots in town. The chef clearly has an eye for culinary art; the sushi looks as good as it tastes. Just check out the incredible carrot butterfly garnish, carved and posed from a single piece of carrot!
The ramen is just as impressive. I had the R3 Katsu Ramen Bowl, and the pork was crispy, juicy, and tender. Like with any katsu ramen, the pork loses its crispness in the broth after a while, but the flavor of the dish was spot-on. The broth was rich, flavorful, and balanced to perfection, having been reduced for 24 hours in-house. For my tastes, I’d suggest asking for the pickled ginger on the side to let the broth’s natural flavors shine through.
A special shoutout to Eric, the manager, who was incredibly attentive and informative during our visit. Since we were the first customers of the day, their house-made tapioca pearls weren’t quite ready, but Eric brought out tea on the house so we could sample the tapioca before leaving. The boba were about as good as you can ask for. No hard center, no bitterness, and just the right texture. We also tried the matcha milk tea, and I can confidently say it’s the best I’ve ever had. The matcha wasn’t overheated (which can make it bitter) and was perfectly mixed—no gritty texture at all. The strawberry tea with freshly crushed strawberries was also a standout, providing a refreshing twist.
Beyond the food, the ambiance at Noodle Mania is charming, with thoughtful décor that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a little piece of Japan right here in Greenville. Whether it’s the Studio Ghibli and Naruto touches or the exceptionally designed menus, every detail feels intentional and well-executed.
For anyone in the Greenville area who loves sushi, ramen, or Japanese cuisine, Noodle Mania is an absolute must-try. The quality, presentation, and attention to detail make it a new local favorite. We will absolutely be returning, and I...
Read moreWe were excited to try Noodle Mania but we were greatly disappointed. We had out of town guests and took them for dinner last night. The restaurant itself looks nice and was clean. Once seated we were greeted by our server Dianna and we were told the soda machine was not working. We understood and ordered water, tea and a beer. When our drinks arrived the beer had about 4 inches of head on it and we were missing the tea. We were never offered refills despite our glasses being empty for over half the dinner. Our food came out one at a time several minutes apart and the server did not ring in one of our ramen bowls (even though she repeated the order back to us correctly). I had to wait over 15 minutes for my ramen bowl while the rest of my table finished their’s before mine even arrived. The server said it would only be a few minutes and never admitted her mistake, only apologized once and did not offer to make her mistake right. My wife ordered the shrimp tempura rice bowl and was very disappointed. She said the shrimp tasted freezer burnt and that some of the edamame was cold while the other was warm. Our out of town guests were not very pleased with the taste of their ramen either. The taste of my ramen was pretty good although it arrived super late. After finishing we waited awhile for the server to come back as she was taking the order for the table behind us. Her demeanor with them was much more different than with us. She was happy (joking and laughing with them), attentive and made suggestions of certain menu items - completely different than with us. With us she was very short, made no suggestions and it was very transactional. We were so excited about this place but will not be returning as the service was horrible and the...
Read moreI came to this place with my sister after seeing on Facebook that it opened recently, and the atmosphere, presentation, and the service was great! The owner spoke to us about how the ramen broth is made in house and not from concentrate (which I must add it was fantastic broth that was not too salty!). The ramen was wonderful! I had the vegetarian ramen and it was wonderful! I do hope in the future that they might add an option to add tofu :) Their lunch menu is also perfectly portioned to fill you up without overstuffing yourself and all of the lunch rice bowls are under $10!
I do wish that the menu labeled what dishes are regularly prepared gluten free. My sister has celiac disease, and she is not extremely sensitive so cross contamination isn’t a worry, but she just can’t eat things that are breaded or battered. It’s hard to tell what on the menu is battered and/or fried with panko since most of the menu doesn’t disclose that or have gluten free labels. We definitely should have asked first before ordering, but when ordering a rice bowl from the lunch menu specifically, the Pork option was the only one labeled as Katsu. The chicken and beef were not labeled as such, so we both made the poor assumption that it was not breaded before ordering the chicken. That was definitely our mistake, but I still think it would be super helpful for the menu to be labeled for what is gluten free! It would definitely make ordering much easier and less risky! Besides that, there is nothing bad to be said about this restaurant! We definitely plan on returning for some...
