The most unprofessional experience I have ever had to endure at any business establishment ever. My mattress was to big for the frame that came with my room, I live in a student housing gated community, and at first I was just going to keep it but while delivering this first mattress the delivery employee told me that it would be no problem to exchange the mattress for a smaller one and a partial refund. He was enthusiastic and persistent about this so I left the plastic on the mattress to have it exchnaged the next day. That same day they had to return because they gave one of my roommates the wrong mattress. So the next day after the first delivery, I called to schedule the exchange and when I asked about the partial refund I was told that we would figure out how I would be supplied the refund later. I made sure that the exhange would take place the day I called because my other roommate was having her mattress delivered that day, therefore they would not be making any extra trips. Again, the same delivery employee adamantly told me to make sure I visted the store for a partial refund. He also talked to another of my roommates saying the same if she decided to exhange but she declined. When I visted the store, as soon as I walked in I could sense tension in the air. I introduced myself and asked about the partial refund. Instantly the owner of the store sarcastically replied, "Didn't we have to come out there three times already?" To which I replied they came two times for me and the third time was their mixup with my roommate's mattress. He then implied that he felt like I shouldn't receive a refund. I told him that I was told by his employee that I would receive a partial refund and that if that wasn't the case then what's the point in returning a more expensive mattress for a cheaper one with no compensation whatsoever because if that was the case I would have kept the bigger mattress like I originally intended to do. He still seemed resistant and started becoming more aggressive and he and I began talking in circles. At this point the situation is already unprofessional because we have a grown man raising his voice at girls who are probably the same age as any daughters that he has and you should know that a lot of their customers are our age especially around August because of move in. My friend stepped in to help me because he had become rude and just bluntly asked if I would receive my refund or not. He at first said he would only give me $15 but then after talking to his assistant said $30 but not before trying to threaten me saying that he would just take my whole mattress for a full refund and then I would be forced to find my mattress somewhere else which was already escalating the situation to an unnecessary place. I signed some papers and before giving me the $30 he said that he really didn't owe me anything because he didn't say I would receive a refund, his employee did which is such an unprofessional and convaluded way of doing things and then he said he didn’t like our attitudes which 1. is particularly irritating to be told as a young black woman and 2. we were just trying to stick up for ourselves and my situation. We in no way were being rude, he was just mad because their internal issues and miscommunications meant that he would have to compensate me. At that point I just wanted my refund but I have never been so disrespected as a customer by an establishment and their, quite honestly, janky system. Edit: Below they make it seem as if they endured me or as if I was being difficult. If that's true then why did they call me later to apoligize for being unprofessional after I put up this review? They knew they were...
Read moreI only went to one place when my husband decided we needed a new mattress. This place is easy to get to, easy to see from the road, and they have a good amount of parking.
We had Nick as our salesman; they had only opened a couple hours before, and he seemed bored, but wasn't too eager like some salesmen can get if they've been bored for a while. (You know what I'm talking about, it's why you hate buying a new mattress.)
I've always been told that in order to get a good bed, you have to spend at least $1000. I'm not so sure that's true anymore. Granted, we didn't buy a Serta or any fancy brand name, but our mattress says it was Made in the USA, and it has a ten year warranty, for way under $500.
Nick wasn't pushy about us getting a boxspring, as we have a good set-up, and our old mattress wasn't bad it was just too soft. I kinda liked it but my back is already feeling better since sleeping on the new one. They also have accessible entrance and bathrooms, so that's really awesome. I definitely recommend this place. Why only four stars? Well, it's a personal preference thing. When you walk in, half if the showroom, and half is the warehouse. It can look a little unprofessional, but man, when you want a GOOD cheap mattress, not a HORRIBLE cheap mattress, you have to sacrifice a little in the marketing department. They do not sell pillows either, but they have mattress covers. He was not pushy about those, but he definitely could have gotten us to purchase one if he had tried. (We're easy...) A note on delivery... we weren't going to be home the rest of the day when we bought the mattress, so we asked for it to be delivered the next day. We had to call twice; the first time, to find out at least a window when they would deliver, and then a second time because it was 20 minutes until the end of the window and we were wondering where the guy was. He was literally three minutes away (possibly just left the store because they are so close to our house) so it wasn't a huge dealio. At least a window of delivery would have been nice so we didn't have to stay home all day. Thanks...
Read moreI'm a college student at ECU, and this year, I needed to buy a mattress. After googling mattress stores in the Greenville area, I came across this store. It had 26 5-star reviews on Google, which excited me, but also made me nervous. It almost seemed too good to be true, and I wondered if it was one of those stores that made up fake profiles to give themselves stellar reviews. However, I was so glad that I decided to trust the reviews. I walked into the store and was greeted by the managers in a very friendly way even though it was 30 minutes before close. I was given quick service, and the employees were very quick to answer any questions my mom and I had. I thought that I would have to get a lower-end mattress because mattresses are so darn expensive, but I ended up walking away with the nicest double/full size mattress in the store- an Elite pillow-topped mattress- for $230. I haven't done any comparison shopping in Greenville, but it seems to me like they have the best deals. They focus on the job of selling mattresses as opposed to paying extra for fancy upgrades to the interior/exterior of the store, which I didn't mind because it kept the prices down! This was a great experience overall, and I love my new mattress. I definitely...
