On July 15 I purchased 2 seats for my children to attend the 'Wednesday Kids Camp' at Painting with a Twist Greenwood location, in the amount of $74. The reservation was paid in full at the time of reservation.
My children and I showed up for the camp at 11am, July 16 and found the doors locked, lights off and the open sign not turned on. I called the business contact and was directed to the owner (Carrie Ridel not sure on spelling) who said the employees must be setting up for the camp in the back and she will touch base with her team and get back with me. After 10 minutes, I called the number again, she did not answer but rather sent a text saying she was still trying to get in contact with her team and to "give her a couple of minutes". She did not call me back or give me any updates after that. After multiple attempts to call her back, I was pushed to voicemail each time or hung up on.
After waiting 36 minutes outside her business, I sent a text to Carrie asking for an update and telling her how unprofessional this entire situation is and I'm very disappointed in how it has been handled. She text me at 11:40 stating she agrees and she is very upset with her team and offered to give me a $50 value "free seat" for another class on a different date. She also stated that a member is on their way right now and should be there "any minute". He did not show up until 12pm, 20 minutes after her text.
At this point, I'm not feeling comfortable leaving my kids unattended (no spectators allowed) with a disgruntled male employee and asked Carrie for a refund for the class. We also had prior engagements/appointments scheduled for after the inital camp end time. She has not responded. I have called her cell numerous times only to be blocked. The icing on the cake was waking up to an email this morning titled "Wow that was fun" thanking us for attending Kids camp. Carrie clearly does not care about first impressions of her business or her customers.
I thought everyone should be made aware, this business is not ran by a...
Read moreLet me first say this was an amazing experience! Me and my fiancé were running late and arrived right at the start time and were not rushed. I originally found the same piece I wanted to surprise my fiancé with at the Carmel location and they didn’t have availability, looked at the greenwood location and they did. I was in contact with the owner and let them know this was the first date night we have had since our son was born, and they made the experience even sweeter by having me my fiancés seats on the left ( you can see in my photo). We were greeted by Christian and he was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Addison was the other instructor there and she was above and beyond helpful, and made this experience the best if could have been for us. I asked if we would be able to make a candle to take home even though we were running late and she didn’t hesitate to help us out with that, not only were we able to take our art home with us, we also got to make a fantastic smelling candle with just made the experience sweeter. Christian and Addison both would help when we felt lost, complimented how our pieces were coming along and were present. Not like other classes where an instructor doesn’t wait for you and you feel rushed, YOU WILL NOT FEEL RUSHED I GUARANTEE THIS! Also I do recommend getting there early so you can see all the unique pieces of art displayed, grab a drink/ snack, and if you get a chance definitely make a candle! This is the first of many experiences we...
Read moreI went into it with little expectations. Signed up as a Mother’s Day gift for my SO since we favor more experiences than tangible things. It was fun date night activity that we were both pleased with and cleared cared about. We hung them in the first 20 mins of being home and talked about what we should’ve done differently for the next hour. That feels like we had some take aways and an interest in trying our hand at it again.
Instructor was well paced so I never felt like I was behind everyone else. The hardest part seemed like getting an eye for color mixing but again we were talked through that pretty well, not just how to keep adjusting it but also to run with whatever felt right for you. A fun balance between being taught and exploring. I believe we’ll go back at some point and do it again! It’s worth the investment to find a piece of art you’d fine fun and sign up...
