I was going through IVF treatments and had 2 failed transfers. I wanted to make sure that going into my 3rd transfer that I did everything possible to make it successful. I wanted an acupuncture place that specializes in women's health, understand fertility but also fertility treatments and what stage I was in, in the process. That is exactly what I received at Hackensack Family Acupuncture & Wellness. I worked with Dr. Lisa M and Sandy Richard both were informative, helpful and knew exactly what to do based on how I was feeling each visit. Anyone who has experienced IVF knows what a stressful roller coaster ride it is and the several combinations of hormones and medications one might be on. I suffered from severe anxiety related to the outcome of my treatments and going 2 times a week helped me navigate the stress and approach my 3rd transfer with confidence that I was calmer. After a few months, I am happy to say that my 3rd transfer was successful. I can confidently say that acupuncture had a significant positive impact on my body and mind that I will always be grateful for. I wanted to love this place so much. I was told by the Dr. that my insurance does not cover acupuncture. Nothing about whether they accepted it or not. But i knew i needed treatment as even my neurologist recommended acupuncture as treatment for me. So i went ahead and paid the $150 out of pocket. They dont give the option to bill because they keep your card on file. When i went home i checked my insurance coverage and sure enough acupuncture is completely covered. When i went back and explained they are supposed to call and authorize treatment if they are not in network, they did just that and was authorized within 24 hours. But then they called me a few days later saying they dont accept my insurance and i went through the process for nothing. No recourse for reimbursement, even though it says on the paper work they make you sign that they will provide what you need for...
