The Forte — Local services in Hackensack

I do not recommend applying here due to poor communication and misleading information from the leasing office.

My family and I toured available units, fell in love with one, and were told it was listed for $4,099. Later, I received an email with a different unit at $3,999. I immediately contacted Erik in the leasing office, and he confirmed several times over the phone that the unit we wanted was indeed $3,999. Trusting his word, we applied and paid the required application fees.

We were later told we were ineligible due to credit scores and were offered an outrageous $15,000 “bond” option through a guarantor program. When I asked for an alternative (like one month rent + one month security), they said the only option was a co-signer with a credit score of 650+ and income six times the rent. I found a qualified family member, paid another application fee, and then the price for the unit mysteriously changed again — this time to $4,999.

After more back-and-forth, they said they would “honor” the previous price but later claimed my co-signer was also ineligible, even though her credit score is above 650 as required. No explanation was given, and no report was shared with her.

We paid three separate application fees, all non-refundable, and were left without a unit. While the front desk staff was polite, the leasing office’s lack of transparency, shifting prices, and inconsistent requirements made this process extremely frustrating. In my opinion, their practices feel questionable and possibly discriminatory.

This building is. Absolutely beautiful. When you walk into the lobby , the front desk is marble.Where the mailboxes are also.Everything is so bright and clean.The hallways are absolutely beautiful.Everything is lit up. They really did an amazing job with this place. When we rented the apartment, we knew it was leed certified. And I had no idea how beautiful that is. The air is so fresh and clean in all the rooms.And even the apartments.I was only here one night and I couldn't believe what a difference. Anybody with allergies Asthma .If you have children with allergies or Asthma, you may want to consider this building. All the buildings I looked at nobody has this. I had such an amazing experience with the leasing team here! They work incredibly fast! I was able to fill out my application, submit all my documents, get approved, and sign my lease all in the same day. The property is absolutely stunning, everything is brand new, spotless, and beautifully designed. The rooftop areas and pool area are gorgeous, and the unit I chose is perfect for me.

My leasing agent was so patient and helpful throughout the process, answering all my questions and making me feel comfortable every step of the way. This is my first time moving out on my own, and they made it feel effortless and stress-free. I immediately fell in love with the space and couldn’t be happier with my decision....
