Valentina’s kitchen — Restaurant in Hackensack

The worst restaurant/lounge establishment I have ever been in. After sitting there for over an hour and a half, we still had menus in front of us and no food on the table. Nobody else was dining, the place was empty and it still took almost 2 hours to get disgusting food. All the plates were over seasoned, my family left 2 whole plates. We didn’t even want to pack up the food for our 2 dogs because we were afraid they would get sick. Someone in our group went next door and grabbed food over there and brought it over to the table (looked delicious btw). Everything was a disappointment. Place had AC on full blast almost the whole time while we had 3 kids less than 3 years old. They told us they have no liquor license but we got served “sangria” which was just water with chopped apple. Personnel/owners were just on their phones while we were the only hungry table in the whole place, so customer service is terrible. This is a Dominican-Mexican fusion restaurant with the best of both worlds. Authentic Dominican restaurant with your traditional Dominican dishes like Chimi burgers, rice, beans, chicken, pernil and everything else. Aside from a Dominican chef they also have an authentic Mexican chef who's has brought a whole new vibe to Hackensack with amazing tacos, killer guacamole and spicy sauces.

Two seperate times we've ordered a platter for pick up, and both times they acted like they had no idea what we were talking about, and didn't start cooking the tray until after we came to pick it up, despite it being already after the time they said we can pick it up. Ridiculous to expect me to just sit around for 40 minutes because you forgot the order. One time is a mistake. Two times is a pattern.
