Lake Eva Event Center — Local services in Haines City

My husband and I had our wedding here on November 10th 2017. First of all this place is lovely. It looks great and when it is all decorated it is even better. We rented out section B and C which includes the patio on the side. We had our ceremony on the patio and the reception inside. They are very accommodating and give you ideas from past weddings. I had 250 seats in the reception area and about 110 for the ceremony since many people don’t show up on time (They also lock the doors so no one shows up while your saying your i-dos). We paid for extra hours which helped us a lot. We had plenty of time to get ready and my wedding started at the dot of 4:30. The man who was in charge Edgar was amazing. He helped us so much and made everything easy. The room for the ladies to get ready in was big enough for my 7 brides maids, two flower girls, the mothers, my aunt and the hair stylist. Bring your own mirrors! There is also many spots with plugs. We were supposed to have two officers at the wedding but only one showed up which saved us money. The police man didn’t bother us. We fed them and brought them drink and cake because he was so great. The kitchen area is huge and holds many beverages in the coolers and food in the warmers. Over all this is a great place to get married. It’s close to home and it is beautiful like a miniature Disney’s Grand Floridian.

If they had the option to put 0 instead of 1 i would put it. I was so excited to do my wedding in here . I was going to get married on april 7 my fiance and i went to lake eva like 4 time to get information about this place and to know if the date was available, they told me that it was i pay for the center, i paid for the invitations , my guest pay for plane tickets , my honeymoon was paid already basically everything was ready. Like two weeks ago they called my fiance that they did a mistake that they didn't realice that the date was already taken and that they double book and that i had to move my wedding to another day. Now im like crazy looking for another place to do my wedding most of the centers are already taken so now i have to change my wedding to another day . Basically i lost the money of my wedding coordinator, my honeymoon and invitations. Now my guest have to change they plane tickets just because they couldn't make sure that the date was available.. ohhh and they couldn't even give me my money back at the moment i have to wait 10 days so that i can get my money back for a mistake that...

Lekia Johnson is the worst event coordinator I have ever dealt with. She is rude and extremely unprofessional.I don't understand how haines city can allow her to run our event center. I recently had an appointment with Lekia in which she no showed me. I literally missed 3 hours of work due to this. I then came in the very next day. She was very rude and short with me the entire time. Long story short she basically ran me out the building. Event planning is a very stressful time and Lekia could've atleast made it easy for me on booking my date. This isn't the first time people have made complaints on her. I don't understand how haines city can allow her to be the face of our event center. Good luck to who ever has to book an event here...
