I was having a really rough day, especially when it came to customer service experiences. I called Walgreens to find out about a prescription that I had been struggling to get filled for over a month, even though I have both my insurance and Tricare coverage. When Joanna answered the phone, everything changed.
She took the time to truly listen to my concerns. She never said, “I don’t know,” or anything that made me feel like this was going to be another frustrating, dead-end call. Instead, she had me hold for a moment while she worked to straighten everything out. She came back with the good news: my prescription would be ready by the end of the day.
When I went to the pharmacy to pick it up, Joanna greeted me with a warm, “Hi, didn’t I speak to you on the phone today?” She didn’t realize how much her kindness and professionalism had turned my day around. I have a heart condition, and this medication is a crucial part of my treatment. Her efforts ensured I got the care I needed after weeks of trying unsuccessfully.
Honestly, I had been considering switching to CVS and had already moved some of my family’s prescriptions there. However, Joanna’s exceptional service reminded me of why I’ve been coming to this Walgreens for over 12 years. Read moreI usually don't have any issues with this Walgreens, but this was truly poor behavior, at the worst possible time. There was no empathy or willingness to help. I was very disappointed by their poor attitude and disregard of common human decency. I recently had a tonsillectomy and needed a refill on my prescription. I was in terrible pain. My doctors office was very quick in getting that sent over to this Walgreens. I had to follow up with Walgreens though because my app was showing a delay. I called and the pharmacy was giving me a hard time about the prescription, saying they couldn't do it for reasons that did not make sense. They said we don't these types of prescriptions here. When I asked them to elaborate they were not very helpful. They just said, we don't know you have to call somewhere else...mind you I had just gotten my tonsils out so I could barely speak! I reached back out to my doctors office and his team was nothing but kind and accommodating. They called Walgreens for me and everything was resolved within 30 mins! I don't know why Walgreens had to make everything so difficult. Clearly they are able to do these types of prescriptions so I don't know why they would lie. It seems to me they just didn't know what they were doing and instead of looking into it they pushed the problem onto the customer. This pharmacy staff needs additional training. Apparently they have a real issue with someone trying To fill and legitimate prescription that they’ve had prescribed to them for years. The manager tried to claim that because there was no prior off attempted at this particular pharmacy. This particular Walgreens that he could not fill my script using a coupon from good RX or any other coupon he just denied me being able to fill my script, which is Adderall by the way, which there is a shortage of by the way. He treated me like I’m the jerk because I wanna get the prescription that I’m prescribed and have been prescribed for the last 10 years when I asked him to release the medication. He got angry and started threatening me like I wasn’t going to be able to get my script at any pharmacy at all. All because I inquired about my script and they’re being an issue with the insurance.
