Edit: a supervised did end up reaching out to me a week after the incident and apologized for how this was handled and that they had cancelled the order instead of offering other solutions besides charging an additional $100. They did offer to honor the original order and cover the shipping addition since it had been their mistake and not caught till weeks after the order. I wish the original supervisor would have handled it in the same manor but I commend them for revisiting it and figuring out a way to honor the order and get us the items. Thank you guys for taking the time to try and fix the mistake even after the fact. More companies need to follow your lead and work to fix past issues instead of just ignoring the wrongs done and try to instead fix for the future only. Hope to see them keep up this trend and make for a better interaction.
It’s been hit or miss over the years with them but overall have found them to be a Dishonest company. In the past we ran into issues of being told things were in stock, then ordered and then after a few days told things were back ordered and delayed, in todays technology climate and real time inventory there really isn’t much excuse to have this happen repeatedly unless your just always telling people it’s available to make the sale whether you actually have in stock or not. On my most recent purchase we ordered some concrete supplies on 1/8. Called a week later to see what the delay was. Was told one of the three items showed up damaged. They offered to ship the other two separately and then send the lady one when it came it at no extra charge. We told them we were ok to wait and let it just be one shipment. Two weeks later they reach out that they finally have all three however the shipping is now $104 instead of $25 due to an error they made with the shipping quote. They refused to take responsibility for fixing the error and told us either we pay the extra cost or they would cancel the order. The original order was only $116 so paying over $100 shipping made no sense to us as we would not have purchased at that cost originally. We will not be doing business with them again. This felt very shady and is bad business. As a business owner. I would never pass along my employees mistake not caught for a month to the customer and tell them if they didn’t like it they could cancel. They have lost a customer for life. I would be wary of doing business with a company that feels it’s good business practice to hold an item that’s already been paid for hostage and almost double the price to the customer. Mistakes happen but this is not how they should...
Read moreIt should’ve been a red flag when I noticed this company only had good reviews. They obviously work hard to get the negative ones removed or suppressed.
Terrible customer service from a company who’s customer service is alleged to be in Florida’s top ten. Laughable, when it’s just a call center.
I ordered an expensive valve for a sprinkler system and when it hadn’t arrived after two weeks I contacted them. First I used the online chat, provided my order number, and was told the part I ordered was out of stock, was also out of stock with the manufacturer, and there was no projected time frame of when it would be in stock. Pretty inconvenient, but it happens.
As directed in the online chat I called customer service to cancel the order. It wasn’t an easy process and the representative said she would have to contact the manufacturer directly to get authorization to cancel the order. She did and called me back about ten minutes later saying the order had been cancelled.
Fast forward a couple of days and I receive an email Confirming the cancellation, and a phone call confirming the cancellation and saying I will receive the refund within 24hrs. Perfect.
I go elsewhere to purchase a similar item and I’m out a few more hundred dollars, but it’s ok because I’m getting my refund within 24 hrs right? WRONG.
The next day I do not receive a refund, I receive an email saying my order has been shipped. What? It was cancelled and I have the email to prove it.
Call customer service again. Reach the Customer service center, obviously based in a different country, and I’m told my refund will have to wait until the shipped (cancelled) order is delivered to me and then returned by me. Problem is I’m now out another few hundred dollars that I was counting on being refunded today. The representative didn’t care. Said it was the manufacturer’s fault. Said the other representative shouldn’t have told me the order was cancelled or I’d be getting a refund within 24hrs.
The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing.
This company is quick to take your money, but if you try to get it back you will be in for a long drawn out process. They play the blame game and offer insincere apologies but no solutions.
Do yourself a favor, avoid this company and avoid the headache. It’s worth paying a little more for an item to avoid the problems.
I’ll check in a few days to see if my negative review...
Read moreI placed an order online with DK Hardware for some screen pull tabs that I wanted to match the current ones on my current screens. Once I placed the order, I got an email telling me that there's a problem with my order, so I called the phone number that was provided. It turns out the item has been discontinued or something even though it's still listed on their website as available to buy. The item is FHC-L5687. They told me that they wanted to offer me a replacement for it, which was completely different, so I quickly requested a refund, and the representative apologized and told me that she was going to take down that listing. That was two days ago. The listing is still up, naturally, and so I guess they're planning on continuing their bait and switch tactics.
DK Hardware's shady business practices don't end at a bait and switch. I paid for my order with PayPal. I just wanted to check out as "guest," as they advertise on their website (see included photo). I never created an account. I simply paid with PayPal, and all of a sudden I got an email saying that an account was created for me. They provided me with a random password and my username is my email address. While I was on the phone with their representative handling their bait and switch, I requested that she close my account. This is when she told me that she cannot close my account and that they open accounts automatically for tracking customer orders. Okay. So, then why are they advertising checking out as guest? Really shady stuff. So now, they have all of my personal details in their database, and I don't know what they plan on doing with it.
Now, these consumer-unfriendly companies are always complaining about how Amazon is taking all of their business. Well, yeah. Amazon doesn't advertise items that are discontinued and keep them up on their website after telling me that they will be taken down, then try to bait and switch you into buying something completely different, nor do they automatically create accounts for people without their consent. And, as it happens, I found a 3rd party seller on Amazon that sells these exact same designed screen pull tabs, only theirs are cheaper and...
