I recently moved to the area and was hoping to find a great Mediterranean restaurant, as this is the cuisine I grew up with. I found a place that seemed promising, and since I always support mom-and-pop establishments, I decided to give it a try.
Upon arrival, I was met by a wonderful waitress who seated me promptly and was very friendly. She made some recommendations, and I ordered hummus to start, kebabs for the main course, and dessert afterward. The hummus was great, and the pita bread was warm but not toasted. However, when the kebabs arrived, I was very disappointed. They tasted as though they had been marinated for days in the fridge, resulting in a mushy texture that was quite unappetizing. I ate what I could and hoped that the kanafa dessert would redeem the meal.
Unfortunately, the kanafa was equally disappointing. It tasted as though it had been prepared days ago, stored in the fridge, and simply reheated in an oven. As someone who grew up making this dessert and frequently ordering it in restaurants, this was the first time I found it inedible after just one bite. It's hard to ruin a dish with only four ingredients, but they managed to do so.
When I informed the server, she took the dessert back to the chef, who insisted on charging me for it despite its poor quality. The chef seemed more concerned about payment than ensuring a positive dining experience.
I requested the check and left a 20% tip for the server, as she was not at fault for the poor quality of the food or the chef's lack of customer service. I do not recommend this restaurant due to the subpar food and the chef's disregard for customer...

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Marash Turkish Cuisine a charming little Turkish restaurant that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warm hospitality that made us feel right at home.( Memet I hope spelled correctly was so charming and great!)
We started our meal with the eggplant and lamb dishes, which were nothing short of spectacular. The eggplants were perfectly roasted, and gave a dish that smoky depth of flavor that paired beautifully with the tender, succulent lamb. Each bite was a delightful experience. Next, we indulged in the falafel and hummus appetizers. The falafel was crispy on the outside and wonderfully fluffy on the inside, bursting with herbs and spices. The hummus was creamy and rich, making it the perfect accompaniment for dipping.
To complement our meal, we were served authentic Turkish tea that was both fragrant and soothing. It was a lovely touch and reminded me of my childhood, we couldn’t resist trying the baklava, and it was honestly the freshest and most delicious baklava I have ever tasted. The layers of pastry were perfectly flaky, and the sweet syrup soaked in just right, making it a heavenly ending to our meal.
Overall, Marash is a hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of Turkey in a cozy setting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food and a warm atmosphere. I can’t wait to return and explore more...
