Yesterday we decided to try The Krazy Vegan in Hallandale Beach. From what I understand it’s a newer restaurant and I was eager to try it. The location is very accessible being really close to i95 and has a large lot with plenty of free parking. The restaurant itself is set up more as a take out then dine in,they had 3 tables outside and we were happy to enjoy our meal there. We ordered a kale lemonade and a cucumber mint lemonade (both not pictured) that was both refreshing and very tasty, not sure if the Kale lemonade has any actual green nutrients in it, or if it was just for color / taste, none the less both were great and I would recommend them both. For lunch we decided to try the “shrimp tacos” and the “Philly cheese steak” and both orders came with seasoned French fries. While I am happy my meal was not ala carte, I might like to see the option of saving a few bucks and not getting fries with my meal or perhaps an alternative like a salad or rice and beans. None the less the fries were better then most fries I have had, but by choice I tend to not order fries, and having 2 orders made for some wasted food. I have never tried any of the the plant based fish or seafood products before so I was really curious to try the “shrimp tacos”. The taco’s were light, but filling and the “shrimp” was cooked well. I added a little taco sauce to the taco for spice as it felt like they were missing something, so I would suggest if you order the tacos to do the same. If I did get the tacos again I would aslo inquire about adding some queso as well. My suggestion would be to serve with quac or chips or rice and beans or some taco salad instead of the fries. The tacos with a little extra sauce were everything they should have been and they set the stage perfectly for my next bite…. The Philly cheese steak…. Which was, well just absolutely insanely out of the world delicious! Each and every bite was loaded with mouth popping vegan flavor and spice. Each bite melted in my mouth and the flavor and consistency was just spot on. We also ordered a side of “krazy sauce” which just made everything pop. This was all washed down by a drink the owner insisted we try called the “krazy beach” which was a frozen strawberry lemonade mixed with a frozen mango lemonade, the drink was tart and packed a punch for you, if you like drinks like this, you will love this. The owner came and talked to us many times and made sure we were happy and enjoying our food and he went well above his call of duty to attend to us and make sure we were happy. I would definitely go back again. My only suggestion for the restaurant is an alternative to fries or an option to order a meal for less without the fries. My only suggestion to you, is to order in advance and have it ready for pick up or for dining at the sidewalk tables. Don’t miss your chance to try the best vegan Philly cheese steak, this place has it! All in all 2 vegan...
Read moreThe food definitely lived up to the hype. Only issue the website is not updated to reflect items that are not actually in store, however the website requires upfront payment. I had to switch to something else after being notified via telephone. I got something that was about $3 cheaper as my daughter settled for a burger as the nuggets weren’t available. Once I arrived to the restaurant I had to insist and inquire on how I’d get a refund/price difference as it was never mentioned, even after getting my food, drink etc. I felt this was odd especially since this was out of my control as I paid more due to an inventory/website issue. First I was told to go online to request the refund. I gave the young lady my phone in the front to explain to me how this is done since I placed my order through the actual establishment website and not a 3rd party. I gave my phone to the cashier who was not able to figure this procedure out either. I was told that it couldn’t be done through the register either. After further insisting I was then given the refund from cash in the register and my sauce that I had to mention a few times even though that was also paid for. I shouldn’t have had to inquire about balanced owed due nor even have to respond to a question of I wanted sauce that I clearly paid for online. The customer service that I received made me feel like I was bothering them instead of being a patron. The workers seemed to be more into their side conversations in the back rather than ensuring proper customer service etiquette. This was not the best...
Read moreI stopped by @TheKrazyVegan in Hallandale, FL. The Krazy Vegan is described as a "100% plant-based gourmet burger joint." The Krazy Vegan is a super cute modern burger joint with limited seating.
First thought was that the music was so loud that I could hardly hear the cashier. The cashier needed to be a little friendlier, offer a smile and stay off her phone while attending customers.
The menu had a variety of vegan burgers, chicken sandwiches, quesadillas, tacos, etc. Slightly pricey but I'm here to support local restaurants.
MEAL "Award Winning" Krazed Konfused Burger -- Plant Based Patty, Battered Red Onions, Vegan Bacon, Mixed Cheddar and Mozzarella Cheese and Krazy Konfused Sauce Served on a Brioche Bun with French Fries.
FoodChews feedback: The description sounds good right? All I tasted was the yummy toasted bun and the krazy konfused sauce. That's it. I did not taste the two cheeses, red onions, bacon or even the so-called burger. lol
Fries -- Seasoned and crispy fries
FoodChews feedback: Good...similar to Checker fries but not exactly.
DRINK Cucumber Mint Lemonade Drink
FoodieChews feedback: Took a sip thinking that it was going to be a nice refreshing drink...Wow this is super sweet. Where is the cucumber flavor? It should be called Mint Lemonade. Now once the ice melted and watered down the drink it was refreshing like I thought it should be. More cucumber and a little less sugar would be perfect.
