I have shopped at Foley's over a decade with no problems. Spent a lot of money there. This past Sunday, i stopped in to do my shopping. Mostly for produce. To my shock, every single item on shelves pertaining to lettuce, was bad or rotted. I searched for alternative lettuce, all brown & wilted. Moved to the tomatoes, all wrinkled or moldy. I could go on about other veggies, but i think you get point. I literally picked up the rotted lettuce and mildew tomatoes and walked it to the courtesy booth. Dropped it in front of the poor clerk and told her they needed to clear all the bad food off the produce shelves. Also stated that i wont spend my money there, any time soon and walked out.
For the prices they charge, the customer should never have to pick through bad or rotted food on shelves. I never seen it that bad before. They should be ashamed. A lot of seniors shop there.
Sadly, I was so appalled at what i saw and it disgusted me, so much so, that i will never shop there for large runs ever again. I may only stop in for 1 or 2 things.
My hard earned money will be spent at a store that cares about what they put on shelves for their...
Read moreThis is a small local market that carries many grocery staples.
I have been using this market sporadically for over a year now and overall have been pleased with my experiences. The staff has been friendly and the layout while traditional and unremarkable works for going up and down isles while shopping.
Foley's does stock many of the more "common" grocery items that you might find at a large chain. I personally have to eat a gluten free diet and the selection of specialty items that are prepared or packaged to be gluten free is very sparse but I have come to accept I am not the target demographic and I don't necessarily fault this establishment for that.
Overall If you require specialty items you likely would be better off at a large chain or other market. If you are looking for a reliable local place to shop, Foley's has a decent selection of staple grocery items and provides a suitable shopping experience even if...
Read moreI have been shopping at Foley's Family Market for 9 years. I loved getting Boars Head sandwiches from their deli and understand the recent problems boars head has had. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because one of the deli workers gave me an attitude when I asked if they were going to bring it back because I am not a fan of many other meats and cheeses and specifically go out of my way for the premium brand. The worker told me "Boars Head needs to clean up their act and they probably won't be offering it anymore because if one facility is like that, all their facilities are". Many of Boars Head's other products were unaffected and they closed the warehouse down that was the cause of the problem. I still love Foley's and many other employees are helpful and kind, but because of that one deli worker, I will be purchasing my lunchmeat elsewhere now. I don't need an attitude over a...
