Affordable Home Furnishings — Local services in Hammond

My sister Just recently got an ac unit from the Hammond location. The "manager" velvet I believe is her name, has been harrasing my sister, my dad who is a 72 year old Vietnam War veteran over being 2 weeks late on paying the monthly note. When about a week ago this extremely rude and obnoxious lady "manager" /velvet proceeded to bang on my dad's door demanding he let her in the retrieve the ac unit otherwise she was going to call the sheriff's office and they would kick the door in for her..... Outraged when my dad called me saying that this poor excuse for a human being was screaming at and threatening him through the door.... myself (Brandon Lee Simoneaux) jumped in my truck and rushed to my dad's house about 30 miles away. When I arrived I had to use my key to go in my dad's house because he was worried that he was getting arrested for theft. This will not be tolerated nor will it be swept under the rug, said manager has been warned by myself, as well as my sister (Shannon Simoneaux) to NEVER RETURN TO MY DAD'S PROPERTY or she would be dealt with accordingly. Now my wife and I have been trying to get corporate on the phone to explain this situation as well as the unconscionable and down right criminal actions of their employee.... but have yet to have our calls returned.. So we are discussing taking legal action against said "manager" and or affordable home furnishings for the above stated actions of their high strung employee and her deplorable approach at handling this situation. This company with their non existent customer service department is a shining example of how someone with what I suppose this woman would consider to be a position of power would abuse her so called (authority) to bully and threaten people with forced entry into their homes to retrieve whatever junk they screwed some poor soul over on. WELL IT WILL NOT BE MY FAMILY!! I strongly suggest that you get your dog on a leash, or she will be treated as such the very next time she steps onto my father's property! This will be the only warning that will be afforded to you. Yall...

Over the course of some time, my wife and I have gotten a washer, dryer, bedframe, and a deep freezer from here. We paid every item off and we never once even paid late. We always payed up in advance, I got the letter they send out saying its paid, on all items. Thinking we should take our business to the same place we have a long and good history with, one afternoon we went in their with our little girl to buy a fridge, the manager kicked us out, saying we are liars and accused me personally of having done something that she "herd" about from someone else bur would not tell me what the accusation was (I still to this day have no idea) She went as far as threatening to call the cops on us. We where completely cordial and was shocked by her insistance that we were some how, and I quote, "playing a game with her". We haven't gone back since. I can't say I recommend this route after we have done so much business and there and they treated us this way. We may never know what happened that day. Our concern is someone used my wife's name somehow, but they wouldn't talk to us. What can you do.....

Other reviewers saying the new manager took it to far. Now imagine never being late, but still being treated this way. Claiming she "herd" something about you.... I can't believe this is how they do business but continue to run. I called corporate.. The guy who called me back said this "thats just how we are." It's shocking that this place...

Buying furniture from affordable has been the worst experience of my life I recently purchased a couch set from them only to find out that the couch was infested with roaches they don’t clean their product before they sell it to you and they do not live by the rules they have on the paper be careful from buying furniture from them they are nasty and will not give you a refund on something they sold to a customer even if it’s infested this was my first and last time every purchasing anything from them and I actylike the furniture at first into I had to gel the sofas from roaches it had roaches in the console creating babies I had to deep clean all that and gel it that’s why it looks clean now but when they delivered it it was dirty and had food still in the sofa I paid damn near a 1000 for this couch set so be careful guys just warning yall wish someone would have told me it’s the affordable in Hammond la and the employees there attitudes are real nasty about...
