I think I own stock in this place now... Maybe 1/3 part owner?? I spend more money here than the law allows! If I could sleep in this place I would. hahahaha! Folks, this is the best Chinese in town, hands down! This place even out performs some of the better spots in NOLA I frequented. Now, by no means is this the more authentic spot in the world nor is it the fanciest. But this spot gives you what you want, has the best and most selections of dishes I have ever seen in a Chinese take-out spot (this is actually the first spot I have ever seen to offer Mai Fun on the menu!!), and it comes fast, fresh, and hot, hot, hot! The food is always done in about 10 - 15 minutes tops. I usually order over the phone, then leave immediately to go pick it up. Usually by the time I get there, walk up, and give them my number, they have the food ready. The prices are great, probably cheaper than most, or at least equal in comparison to all other spots I have been to. They only down fall of this location is the lack of dining area. I think there is one table that is really able to be sat at. But, this is a take-out spot, so that really doesn't matter in the long run. I also love that their customer service is fantastic. If they are out of something, they are happy to substitute that item within reason of course! For instance, I ALWAYS order the Pu Pu Platter, their version of an appetizer sampler. Sometime they might be out of an item, such as shrimp toast like last time I went. She asked what I wanted and she made it happen. That simple and easy. If you are a fan of Chinese, or if you have never had the pleasure of getting it, you need to come here ASAP and get you some good eating. I recommend the Dumplings both fried and steamed, shrimp toast, General Tso's chicken, combination Lo-Mein, Shrimp Mai Fun, and the Chinese Ribs. Those are all great items, but honestly everything here is great! Thanks China Wok, I will be seeing you again, probably today! HAHA. With that said, I give this place a 4 out of 5 because of the lack of dining area to make it a full service restaurant. I would say 5 out of 5 for fast-food/take-out...
Read moreThe reviews here from some people are ridiculous. Some people just love to complain. Been going here for years. Food is fresh, they have never messed an order up,they say ready in 10 minutes but usually done before that. Prices are good for the generous portions. I saw reviews complaining of up charges and that it's not clean. I've never seen it not clean. I have never worked in Food service but my spouse has. So many people complain to not pay or get free food. The ones that usually complain are cheap trashy people they need to stay home and cook with the groceries they got with food stamps.! And the ones that complain about cleanliness have the dirtiest home with roaches everywhere! Good people, good food, good prices, good portions and the ladies that take the orders are always nice. Some people just want people to bow down to them! There is one guy that I think is one of the owners. He smiles and speaks each time I go in there. I've seen him in Walmart many times and he smiles and speaks! And I've been eating here for maybe...
Read moreI'm usually a patient person, but calling there it's impossible to hear them over the phone background noise. Fine. I'm still patient. But when the woman on the other end starts raising her voice and saying things like "I TOLD YOU" when I'm trying to ask questions and understand what she's saying, it starts to get a little off putting. I understand the accent and phone static makes things hard to hear, I'M patient. But I expect the woman on the other end TAKING MY ORDER to be patient and civil with me in return. I was NEVER ONCE rude to her, but she was absolutely rude to me. In the end, I opted to NOT order from China Wok. I don't need someone YELLING at me while I'm trying to place my damn order.
Not to mention they jacked prices up and it doesn't match what...
