We visited Los Primos Supermarket in Hammond after a fun family trip to Heather’s Pumpkin Patch, and the food here totally impressed us! Everything was full of flavor, perfectly seasoned — not too salty or heavy like many other places. You can really taste the freshness and care in every bite. Honestly, this place is way better than the Google rating shows — it deserves a lot more love. If you’re in the Hammond area, definitely stop by Los Primos for authentic, flavorful food. Service is the worst I have ever received! Plus the whole family that was with us and including us got charged for additional food that was never ordered, the waitresses wanted to make additional money by charging us the additional food, even though they were already charging 18% tip! Once again, service is the worst I have ever seen; we had to wait 40 to 50 minutes for food to come out. Place is digusting with flies flying while you are eating, that is unacceptable in a restaurant! Be very careful with Rosita, she's very astute on charging you for additional food and money goes right in to her pocket! Be aware before paying and ask for a receipt, they tend to not give you receipts for you to not have proof...

This is the place to go for authentic Mexican food. They make tamales,(the homemade kind), that are loaded with either pork or chicken...I always buy a extra dz to freeze individually, (they turn out great, steamed in the microwave for a minute or two.). Make sure to call ahead because they sell out quick and they only make so many in a batch. And when you feel like taking a try preparing your own Mexican dishes, this is the one-stop grocery store that will have all the ingredients you'll need, I don't know about you but I can never find the right ingredients for spanish dishes in my regular supermarket.
