Let me start by saying the staff was friendly and this review is to no fault of them. Also as a veteran of 10 plus years in the service industry i can count on one hand how many times I've sent food back. First and last time there. First time experience as follows:
I get there after dreaming about trying this place for the first time after my shift. I already know what I want and I'm starving. I promptly order my sandwich and egg rolls Togo. With in 15mins food was out and ready . I excitedly took the bag and went on my way. I went and sat down in my car to eat. I opened the egg rolls first. Those bad boys had the right amount of crunch. Unfortunately no sauce? A BBQ sauce would have completed these so well.
Now on to the sandwich. Throw the breaks. It's not a sandwich. It's a potato. So I bring it back and tell the fella behind the counter it was supposed to be a sandwich. He shrugged and said it doesn't come that way. I was taken back and thought maybe I misread the menu and took my potato and left. So I get back to my house and sit down to eat . It's too salty and I was so disappointed cause I had my mouth set for a sandwich. So with a hard nudge from my sister I took it back to the restaurant. I pulled up the online menus on the resturant page. I show where it infact was a sandwich at one point. The boy from behind the counter called someone else over. I talk to the new server who calls for a manager. I show the online menu to her and she apologized. The manager promptly brings it to the back to fix it after telling me since it's on there she will fix it but if I love it, it will be the only one I get cause they don't offer it anymore. That's fine . So I go outside to sit and wait. Counter boy comes out and offers me a drink and I say no . He responded " but it's freee" I say " I'm good I got a coke in the car. A cheesecake would be cool tho" Shortly after that the manager comes out with my sandwich and I thank her and go on my way. At this point I've lost my appetite and don't even want it. Maybe I'll revisit it for dinner. What a disappointing first impression.
Ps. No cheesecake in...
Read moreWanted a loaded baked potato so my fiancé and I decided to give it a go. Boy, we was not disappointed. We got fried pickles ( one order is enough to feed 4 people, well with the value), the pulled pork & mac eggrolls ( really good, he loved them and portion was hefty for $$), a chicken Parmesan poboy ( they are 12inches not 6inches, so make note, stuff very well, and hot), and lastly the buffalo chicken potato ( this thing was MASSIVE filled to the top with fried chicken, Mac and cheese, and sauces!! It was very good but beware it has a little kick). The front of the house staff was so sweet and had such a nice smile from the start, another staff member greeted me very politely and immediately called for someone to give me my order. I would def try eating in next time. It’s a smaller restaurant with homie college vibes. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a po boy, or a potato. I read some of the 1 star reviews and I do not agree with them. Every restaurant has ups and downs, it’s unfortunate but it does happen. My experience tonight was great, the food was great, the portion for the $$$ was very good ( especially with these times we are in), and the staff was nice and inviting! Good job...
Read moreWell we drove 2 hours from Mobile to give this place a try and was a little disappointed. I can't rate the food due to we didn't get to eat. First we were going to order the big easy with the boudin and was told they were out of boudin. That was ok so we changed it to the seafood potato. After waiting about an hour we were told that they were waiting on catfish to come from their new location and they it world be about 20 minutes and we said ok. The waitress comes back and said that their oven is now broke and they also were out of potatoes and they only had sweet potatoes left. We are now an hour and half in on this try. We watched other people come in after us and got their food. We were really upset to drive this far to try something new and have an experience like this. I understand opening a new location up and not expecting a large turnout but this should have been better dealt with. The manager should have came to us instead of our waitress. She was very apologetic and we appreciate that but it wasn't her place to do that. With all this being said we are still willing to at least give it another try. The food that came out to other tables looked amazing it just sucks that we didn't have the...
