Hair Cuttery — Local services in Hampstead

I was scheduled for a basic updo for my engagement photos. All I wanted was my hair twisted and pinned back, and some curls. I showed a picture when I arrived and the girl immediately started pinning my hair… before curling. She asked if I wanted to see what she did before she started curling. I said yes and it was so flat and not at all like the picture. I told her if she curled first, it would give it more body. She said she would try again. But, she again did not curl, instead she took the Bobby pins out and tried to pin it up again. After 45 minutes we had gotten no where. She told me that my hair was too thin for the style I wanted and that she could do something else. I told her that curling would help…. I didn’t go to school for hair like she did, but it’s common knowledge that curling adds body. She then began to curl with the smallest curling iron ever. I told her it was going to take at least an hour to curl all of my hair with that iron. I ended up leaving an hour after arrival with absolutely nothing done to my hair. It was an hour wasted on a day that I had to be ready by a specific time. I ended up going home, curling my hair, and pinning it exactly how I wanted. I will never waste my time in attempting to get an updo...

Good afternoon. Today my niece was in this salon and saw a stylist was named Kim. After an extensive consultation with a picture shown, an agreement was made to give a service of very dimensional balayaged caramel highlights. Once completed, she was left with what looked like Kim had lightened her entire head, brassy yellow. She proceed to blow her dry when my neice mentioned she needed to be toned down to something more desirable. After toning, she's left with nothing noticeable. It's all one color and definitely nothing even close to the inspiration picture! Now, as stylists ( I am one) we all know you can't always promise the end result your asked to give, especially when its above your experience level when in that case, this stylist should of never taken the service to begin with! The service wasn't worth the money and as this experience RUINED her expectations for her 1st of school tomorrow- we need to get this fixed. To be honest, we'd really like to get refunded and never step foot back into another hair cuttery ever again- but because she wants this fixed, I'm willing to have this corrected by a stylist that knows what there doing ASAP. I showed up as a walk-in and new customer today. Parking is available right in front of the shop. The staff was friendly. I was immediately assigned to Donna. She asked me to wash my hands and everyone was masked making me feel secure. Donna asked me what I was looking for in a haircut. She only grinned when I confessed to botching a DIY haircut a few months ago. She opted for lots of layering and texturing to repair the self inflicted damage. Donna is one of those magicians who can assess your wishes/available hair/face shape and create the look you were hoping to get. I walked out looking great and feeling even better. Looking forward to scheduling with Donna again! The conversation made the time enjoyable too. An excellent first experience with this Hair...
