Unmatched Culinary Delight at China Manor!
Whenever my cravings for Chinese cuisine ignite, there’s only one place in Carroll County that satisfies them completely—China Manor. It’s not just a dining spot; it’s a culinary journey that never ceases to amaze, from the first sip of their soul-warming soups to the last bite of their perfectly crafted entrees.
What sets China Manor apart, surprisingly, is their sushi—a hidden treasure in a Chinese restaurant. Each roll is a masterpiece, fresh, inventive, and arguably the best sushi you can find in the county. It's a delightful twist that keeps us coming back for more.
The menu is a parade of delectable dishes, each cooked to perfection with flavors that sing in harmony. The portion sizes are more than generous, ensuring you leave with a full belly and a content heart. Whether it's their sizzling entrees or the variety of options that cater to every palate, China Manor has perfected the art of Chinese cooking.
The warmth of the staff adds to the charm of China Manor. Their friendly smiles and attentive service make us feel more than just customers; we feel like part of the family. It's the kind of place where they remember your favorite dish and greet you by name, a rarity in today's fast-paced world.
We've ventured to other Chinese restaurants within Carroll County and on our travels, but none hold a candle to the delicious food and outstanding service provided by China Manor. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that keeps us loyal to this gem.

Read moreIt’s a hot day…my young kids are “a lot.” I used to tell my kids about going to China Town in Chicago when I was younger and always getting pretty umbrellas in my drinks. My kiddos really liked this story and asked me if they could get drinks like I used to. So, on a whim, I took them to China Manor (i know--not quite DT Chicago on the red line) and sat them down and asked if we could order drinks with umbrellas and man…. China Manor delivered! Thank you so much for making special memories with my kiddos-- my very rambunctious and almost embarrassing chaotic stress of a family! We had a wonderful time with our special drinks and mochi dessert. I cannot thank you enough for catering to our crazy.
Additionally: we’ve been dining in and ordering from here since we moved to Hampstead in 2012. I believe the owner actually delivered our first meal to our home when we were literally sitting and eating on boxes near closing hours. It's a memory I'll never forget and it's so nice to see his recognition of us when we come in. The restaurant is kid friendly, exceptional food, and top of the line service. If I can say one thing about China Manor it’s that after all our years coming here we have never been disappointed (egg foo young, chicken and vegetables, sushi galore, pork lo mein, sesame chicken, general tso chicken, egg rolls, spring rolls, edamame, crab Rangoon, wonton soup—these are our go-tos). My husband and I often go here on date night (yes, there is a bar) and just about every Christmas Eve with the kiddos. I personally, have not ever been disappointed with our...
Read moreAbout me, I have eaten at many different Chinese restaurants in many different geographic areas over the years. All across Maryland, Pa, and DC areas including China town.
After years of this restaurant being in my area, I finally decided to try it. I can say I am underwhelmed with the food.
Black Bean Chicken, This is an item that is not on most Chinese food menus in Maryland, but most places will make it for you if you ask for it. This is the dish I ordered today, and it was sadly underwhelming. Chicken with black bean sauce you should have a bold, black bean sauce flavor that is savory.
What I received was instead, bland, slightly sweet, with just a hint of black bean.
The Egg roles they serve, The two egg rolls I received where actually two of the better ones I have had.
The service, I ordered takeout, and was served by a young, pleasant Chinese woman. She was very friendly, and courteous, with a smile. She said "Hello" when you walked in, so based on my experience, I would say the service is excellent.
The Ambiance, The restaurant is very nicely setup, and appointed inside, with what looks like a full sushi bar, with another back room. The restaurant despite being fairly moderate in size, gives a nice cozy feel.
The price, The price I paid for a large order of Chicken with Black Bean sauce, and two egg rolls was 14.00 Based on how the food tastes, I would say that was too expensive. Certainly for...
