Hampton Woods Plaza — Local services in Hampton

I think this is a rare thing. A well designed strip mall. There are a couple of places to get your hair done, as well as a place that sells hair supplies. There is a laundromat and dry cleaners which is under new management. There is an H & R Block for the necessity of taxes. A dance studio where you can leave your kids WHILE you are having your taxes done and I am certain I am leaving some services out.

Now, moving on to the food choices. On the perimeter of the mall you have your fast food such as McDonald's, Taco Bell and Subway. The sit down restaurants include a delicious Chinese fare, a wonderful Italian restaurant, and the iconic Queensway Cafe known for their authentic southern soul food. I have eaten at the Cafe and can tell you from personal experience the food there is as good as my friends said it would be. I had fried shrimp, hush puppies, collard greens, candied yams and sweet tea. The meal was delicious, the staff was courteous and attentive.

Holding down the center of the Plaza is a Food Lion grocery store. I think it's great to have a grocery store here so a person can pick up a few things on the way home AFTER they have eaten a nice meal versus while they are hungry. One spends less on a full stomach.

Whoever designed this strip mall or as they have named it, Hampton Woods Plaza knew that it would serve a large community as it is located directly across the street from a housing complex. However, there are plenty of strip malls in crowded areas that are shuttered or are I'll designed, so my hat is off to the architect of the Hampto Woods Plaza and whoever it is that keeps those...
