I brought my kids here yesterday and was really excited to have a place that would suite our large age range (toddler up into teen). We had a good time. There were a variety of activities, open floor makes it easy/fun for my older kids to run loose without ever being too far, and lots of seating for adults. I thought the weekend price was steep but weekday prices look more fair. My older kids (9 and 13) were over it after about an hour, just because it was mostly younger kids. It's definitely better suited for under 10 but entertained them for a time
Two things I hope management sees here and can adjust:
The under 5 areas are great. It's clear that's why a lot of families are coming here because it's something that SkyZone, Surge, etc don't offer. However, the people monitoring the zones did not enforce the ages. My 2 year old was knocked under the balls and run over by kids 10/12 years old in the toddler zone multiple times, as well as plowed through when she was trying to get in and out of the doorway. I saw a boy of about 5 knocked under and an older child stepped on his face while running. There were several kids that age in there at a time and the woman working there didn't stop any of them. The balls are a little deep (up to my knees). Several parents were losing their kids in there because it was easy to slip while trying to walk through. Maybe lose 1/3 of the depth to make it more suitable for under 5 (and less fun for over 5). It was stressful for me to let my younger toddler play in there.
-I really didn't like that the stickers they want you to put on your child with your leave time show your child's full name (first and last name). In all the chaos of kids running around, it would be very easy for someone to approach a kid and use their name to let them know mom is looking for them over here and lure a child away. I blacked ours out but this is a major safety concern.
Overall, great place and we will return...
Read moreThere are a bunch of these types of places around these days and this one is like any other with positives and negatives. We went on a Saturday afternoon for a birthday party so it was crowded but that is fair for the day and time. It is deceptively large inside! The party rooms are spacious and in a good location within the establishment. The wall graphics in the party rooms are themed towards younger kids....as is the whole place really. The signage was a little confusing for the 5 and under toddler zone because you must access the rope course through the toddler zone and that is not meant for toddlers (picture attached.) So you must violate the signage to get to the ropes course. Some staff were kind and patient in dealing with kids which is a challenge for that many excited kids running around everywhere and unlike some other places they were staged at some attractions which was a plus. The party host for our room was great. Some staff though were present and not keeping their area safe...for example letting kids go backwards, hang in the ball pit, swing the inflatables wildly in the obstacle zone where parents had to hop in to stop kids from being unsafe while the staff member watched. Also maybe there should be a time limit for the inflatable bubble area the kids go inside (not aure the real name) if there is not (the staff we asked asked us how long they had been in there with a line of kids waiting!) And I am being picky now but maybe put the correct time on your clock on the wall above the front doors lol. Overall, many pluses and a fun place for...
Read moreMy boys (7 and almost 3) had a blast today. I drove up from Virginia Beach based on previous reviews that Funplex was great for younger kids and I was not disappointed. I have had a fair number of experiences at other trampoline parks with young kids and this is the first time I didn't feel my head was spinning with trying to keep a toddler from being pummeled to the floor by older kids. There was plenty for both of them to do but it didn't feel overwhelming. The playground was great for them and everything was clean.
The staff were friendly from the front desk to those working the floor. The young staff members seemed to do their jobs happily and were not visibly annoyed at assisting kids as I have seen at other places. My 7 year old was nervous about the zipline and my toddler was struggling to reach the handles. The young lady assisting was so patient and kind with both of them. My older son struggles with anxiety; she talked him through things until his nerves calmed and then happily helped him push off when he asked her. He did it countless more times afterwards. Her extra effort to make him comfortable really made the day enjoyable for him. I didn't catch her name, but I appreciated the care she took in doing her job. She is in the included photo, so hopefully she gets some kudos..
My only regret is that I didn't get the unlimited jump time. We will definitely make the effort to...
