I have been going to Alsip for years. I know in general Alsip has higher prices, but I often go and spend the extra money because it has everything in one place. When I say that I have spent thousands of dollars here, it is not an understatement. I have bought roses, peonies, indoor plants, trees, planters, dirt, seeds, and much more. I go to Alsip almost weekly. One of their policies with perennials is that if it doesnât come back within a year then they will refund you half the price of the original plant that you bought. So last year, May of 2021, I purchased four rose bushes. Last year, in early May, I was able to plant these rose bushes because we had a warmer season. This year, 2022, two of my roses started coming back in early June and the other two were clearly dead and not coming back. It took my rose bushes longer to come back because we had a cooler season at the beginning of this year. Nevertheless, I took photos of my dead plants and I drove over to Alsip the first week of June this year. I put two more rosebushes in my shopping cart, and I headed over to the checkout line. I then proceeded to ask the girl checking me out if she would honor the two rosebushes that didnât come back this year. She said no that they wouldnât honor it because it is three weeks past the year deadline. I was upset by this again because we had a cooler season at the beginning of this year therefore the roses took longer to come back (I as a customer, should not be punished for what nature decides to do). I am one of their most loyal customers, and they could not honor it. Also, the manager or owner was within earshot and he started to question me as if I did something wrong. He asked me when I planted them, and then he asked me when did I cut them back. Little did he know that I work at a flower farm and I am very well-versed on how to take care of flowers. The point of fact is that out of the four rosebushes two came back and two didnât, which would imply two of the rosebushes werenât really that healthy to begin withâŚ..a.k.a. being the fault of Alsip. I was also upset with him questioning me to try and make me feel bad, as a customer, that I did something wrong AND questioning me with the intent to never give me the half off deal on the roses that are currently in my cart. I am not trying to scam the company when I clearly have two more rose bushes in my cart ready to replace the already dead ones back at my house. So today, I will be headed to Sunrise Nursery hopefully to experience better...
Read moreNormally I would NEVER give Alsip Nursery so few stars..... BUT I recently needed to run there around 5:30 p.m. & I walked around the store for close to an hour & left without getting any of my questions answered. I am not real knowledgeable with plants/flowers & I have a co-worker that recently lost her husband. I just wanted to pick out something to put on her desk, to brighten her days... my problem was not knowing what I could purchase, that would maybe last at least a week or two. I asked a young man that was actually in the department... he pulled out his phone & after a few minutes, he told me he wasn't sure what I could buy... that would last. I continued to walk around the store... I asked a young woman if she could help me, she said she was fairly new... but thought the tulips I was looking at... may last. I was still confused as what to pick out, so I made my way to the front of the store, where 2 young female cashiers were & I asked if they had any knowledge of the different plants... they both told me they were also "new". I then asked if they could page someone to meet me in the garden area, they said they would do so. After walking the garden area for a 3rd time & waiting for 10 minutes... I decided to leave & try somewhere else. I understand being new... but I just thought there would have been at least 1 person working at that time .... that could've answered my questions. Guess I should only visit Alsip during the morning or early...
Read moreAbsolutely love the clinic here! The staff is super friendly, helpful and accommodating! I was already having a REALLY rough day before I got there, and my kids (2&4) were with me and definitely showing their age, but the staff couldn't have been nicer!! I am currently taking care of my sister's dog, and she was due for a nail trim and shots. I am not a super dog savvy person, and the clinic staff was seriously SO helpful. I have nothing but good things to say! However I also took her for the nail trim, and while the young people who initially did her nails were very kind and helpful, after I got done with the vet I noticed some of her claws were still kind of long. I pretty much let them know that I was inexperienced, and that if that was as short as they could cut her nails I totally understood that. BUT, if they could grind them lower I would appreciate it. The lady who re-trimmed them, (Sandy? Older lady...) was pretty rude about it, making commentary the WHOLE time about where her quick was (unnecessary since I already stated that it was FINE if that was as short as they could go... She was just trying to make me feel stupid.) THEN she made me feel like an idiot for asking where I could find an aerial lead (apparently it's called a trolley) Anyways, aside from one five minute experience with a bitter old lady, I was very pleased with this place. They definitely helped this...
