Update 2020. October 14th. I went to donate stuff and pulled up to the door and waited. What I saw was completely disgusting. It looked like a hoarder ran the place. Stuff was piled up to the ceiling. And there was even stuff piling outside the door. This is a health hazard! Someone is going to get sick and hurt! I think OSHA needs to see this for any of you employees reading this!*
I have been going to this goodwill store for YEARS... and for most of those years I have had good experiences. Even made friends with some of the employees. Today however... I wasn’t told of a “new policy” they had on furniture until after I purchased furniture and realized that my car door was a few inches smaller than the width of this cabinet. I was patiently and calmly talking to the manager and went as far as to apologize for the inconvenience. The managers rolled their eyes at me. And spoke to me in such a rude manner. And even though we were able to figure it out... I seriously never met such rude managers. And I realized how they treat their employees as well. They seemed so nervous when I explained my problem and they went to get the manager. No wonder people are always quitting there.... one thing is for sure though... I will be going elsewhere. Hopefully a goodwill that has better and more...
Read moreGOODWILL Store of St. John, IN is conveniently located with easy access off Rt. 41 & is set back among other brick & mortar stores. The building is spacious and I found it housed a large amount of items. Racks of clothing were predominant and filled the center of the store as well as dresses along the perimeter right. I found them to be arranged neatly by size and occasion wear. There was not a great selection of formalwear this day (hit or miss) & I was hoping for additional dot savings but none on this particular day. Walking toward the back of the store I found shoes as well as linens for the kitchen and various packaged beddings & household appliances. I did not see much furniture and was disappointed that this GOODWILL does not carry costume jewelry …the store clerk confirming this. All in all I was hoping for better luck. Of itself the donation center was clean, organized and does have particular sales days for its customers. If you register at checkout you can be notified of special sales, days & dates which is nice. There is no cost to do so & seniors get 10% off ticket prices. I am not affiliated with GOODWILL Stores & this review is my...
Read moreI don't donate to Goodwill any longer because they use far too much of what they get for free (from you and me) to pay for their Fancy new stores in affluent areas (to get your better quality giveaways) and corporate salaries and benefits. The OWNER/CEO of Goodwill pays himself well over $700,000 annually in salary and benefits including a lucrative pension plan that nobody seems to know the value of. (that means it's way too much) The other top people in Goodwill Industries make in excess of $300,000 annually. Sorry I can't support giving my things away free to a company that makes their owner and top people wealthy at the expense of others. Sure they do some good but their business model id greed disguised as charity. Tell you what. Go into a Goodwill and tell them you need clothes and have no money. You will...
