Response from the owner 13 hours ago Greetings Mr. Grimm,
"our sincerest apologies that you feel that your time with us was a waste. We were under the impression that you were aware of the situation at hand. When you brought in your S8 the screen was damaged and you had your phone set up to the point that with too many attempts at a wrong password the phone would reset. Once the repair was complete the phone was already reset we attempted to do a data recovery for you but that failed so we had to access the cloud and transfer all the information that you had saved originally when it came to your apps photos contacts and messages so you would have something on your new 22 ultra. If you truly feel that this was a waste of money on your end and that you could have done it yourself please stop on by and we can get you a refund. Hopefully we can get over this hill and be able to work with each other again."
This might be the weakest explanation I have ever heard. You were under the impression I was aware of the situation at hand? You must be kidding! I brought my old damaged phone in, demonstrated its condition, and explained my desire to have the old phone's data (photos, apps, contacts, etc.) transfered to the new phone as I was informed by Verizon that repair companies such as this one had a tool or software that allows the transfer without using the screen. Nobody said anything about using the cloud to retrieve that data. I have experienced this condition before with a phone whose screen was damaged, and the transfer was successful simply by going phone to phone. The response I received was that this is something this company could do, it will take a day, I needed to leave both phones, and it would be a $150 upfront to transfer the data or $250 to fix the old phone screen and transfer the data. Since I was trading in the phone to Verizon in its current condition, I did not need the screen replaced. There was no mention about needing a password (and my phone is not password protected, either). So, it sounds like your efforts locked up my old phone ... it's too bad your company didn't explain your process better, ask more questions about accessing my phone, or contact me before my phone shut down and reset. The $150 refund offer is a kind gesture, and I thank you. However, the REAL issue is the company promised a service and failed to deliver and may have inadvertantly blocked anyone else from delivering the service I was seeking. THAT is the hill that you would have to get over in order for us to work together again. Please contact me if you think you...
Read moreThey twist your words. I genuinely donât know how they have so many good reviews. Stay away. I took my laptop in for a âfree diagnosticâ (more on that later) which they said would take 15-20 minutes. I had told them prior what issues the laptop had and what I needed fixed. I hung around for the 15-20 minutes but they didnât seem to even have started and I had to go so they asked me if I could leave my laptop so I did. A day went by with so I gave them a call and they told me theyâd have an answer for me the next day. â15-20 minute diagnosticâ yeah right. The next day they gave me a call and told me theyâd could fix it and gave me an estimate (if I remember correctly) somewhere between 200-300 dollars. I told them I didnât need the laptop right at this moment since I had gotten a new tablet and that I wasnât looking to spend that much fixing my 7 year old laptop I barely use anyways. They asked me for what amount would I have fixed it and I told them that I was hoping the repair would be under $100 but that it was fine and I didnât need it fixed. They told me okay on the phone and that I could pick it up before they closed. I went towards close to pick the laptop up and what do they tell me when I get there? Itâs fixed! I told them that I didnât need them to fix it but thanks? Then they told me theyâd were able to fix it for $80 and that they wanted to charge me. I told them that on the phone I specifically told them I didnât want my device fixed but they kept telling me that I told them that if it was under $100 I would fix it. I told them they were twisting my words because I specifically told them I would not fix it this time around but maybe down the road. I was not going to pay so they waived the $80 but asked me for a good review but thatâs not happening. As for the âfree diagnosticâ my friends wife just happened to go to the same place a couple days after to get some gaming systems diagnosed. I found out because I had told my friend about what happened and he told me something similar happened and I found out it was the same place. She ended up not doing repairs but was charged for the âfree diagnosticâ. Take my information as you will...

While I cannot guarantee that your device can be fixed, I can guarantee that you will not make a wrong decision in giving CompRite a chance first. They will go above and beyond to get your device fixed at the best price you can find in the metro area.
During my vacation, I trusted my IP68 device (Samsung S21) a bit too much and did not expect it to die after being soaked in ocean water for 10-15 minutes (in less than an inch of water). Since I was on vacation, it was not until another 7 days later that I was able to return home and bring my phone into a repair shop to get it looked at. While searching for a phone repair company, I was recommended to visit this location by a relative. I was initially skeptical that this repair shop would be able to fix my Android device since they advertise fixing iPhones and computers, but I figured why not. Walking into the store, I was expecting the cost of the service would be around $200-300 (as other shops quoted me around that price). After I explained my phone's situation, Paul took my phone and quoted me a bit less than $90 for an upfront service fee and explained that if they needed to replace any parts, they would notify me of the part and cost before replacement. CompRite ended up replacing a part free of charge since the Lake Oswego location had an extra part to spare. They cleaned the phone (which was extremely corroded by salt water) and reassured me throughout the entire process that my phone would turn on as long as we did not give up on it. It was already incredible that they were able to fix my phone to the point where the device could charge for only $90. I followed Paul's instructions to keep the phone charging for 2-3 days (on and off) and the phone actually turned on by the 3rd day. My phone is fully functional again!
I cannot thank CompRite enough for their service and absolutely will visit again if I have another...
