FAT Cupcake — Local services in Happy Valley

Our wedding cake was the right flavor, but the wrong color. Lol. During the cake tasting and ordering we got a pink champagne cake and I repeated that I also want the cake to be pink... I also asked for a design and they had me email the picture to them so they could go off the picture for the design and would ONLY use the design not the whole cake concept of the picture. There was some back and forth clarifying design and size... but told them repeatedly JUST the design on the side of the pictured cake not the whole cake. Our cake was also smaller than the pictured one. They also helped with verifying the price the design would be on the cake. Noting that we only wanted the design and not the color or style in the picture.

Lady suggested a silver dusting, or some sort of dusting that was really pretty and we both agreed it would look great with the pink.

On the wedding weekend..My husband and his best man picked up the cake and transported it 2.5 hours to the wedding destination. I opened the box and it was white... I called and told them it was supposed to be pink. They asked what they could do, in a very nonchalant way, and they had gone off the color in the picture I sent. I told them the picture was only for the design, not the color as we had told the lady multiple times the cake was supposed to be pink. They said there was nothing they could do in just a few hours before the wedding... so we had a delicious cake but wrong color... 🤷‍♀️ Husband also at fault for not double checking and just grabbing the cake and heading out. We stopped in midday and there were a couple of customers in front of us. The gal working was kind and helpful, quickly serving everyone. Cute atmosphere inside and I could easily see staying in to enjoy the sweet treats. We took ours to go and it was boxed well for travel to our destination.

The cupcakes themselves we good. I had the Cin-ful cupcake and the flavors were good but it was pretty dry. It was definitely a cinnamon roll in a cupcake wrapper. I suppose I was expecting more of a cinnamon cake or one of those rolls that is more doughy. I’m not sure if it was made that morning or a previous day, but if it were made within the last 24hrs I’d look into a more doughy mix for the base (obviously just my preference).

My boyfriend had the one with the Oreo inside and his report was that it was good, not earth shattering but he had zero complaints. It looked delicious and I wished I had gotten a taste of his. The other three were gobbled up without hesitation so I assume they were good as well. There didn’t appear to be a great abundance of supply in the cases but they had the five flavors we were going for and many others. They only had 1-3 of each flavor. This could just be their preference for display purposes but I would stock up more.

Overall I’d definitely go again, get a more cakey cupcake and maybe visit earlier in the morning or closer to...

We picked up some cupcakes from the Happy Valley location. The store was cute and the woman behind the counter was very friendly. There were very limited choices in the display case. The cupcakes were pricey and we were pretty disappointed in the quality. The cupcakes were dry and stale like they were a day or so old. They tasted like grocery store cupcakes, not a lot of flavor in the cake itself. After the price we paid for these disappointing cupcakes, I think we will stick with the fresh baked cakes(moist) at Nothing Bundt Cakes...
