I tried looking here while on vacation in Harbor Springs last week. I brought with me my infant daughter in a stroller, and sadly experienced the most classless behavior from any person in a boutique. When I approached the store, the woman working there was outside on her phone. I paused right inside the doorway to look at something and heard her tell the person on the phone that there was a woman with a stroller inside, and that "she probably [wasn't] going to buy anything", but she had to go inside anyway. All I can conclude from that comment and its tone was that the woman judged that I didn't look like a person who could afford anything in her store, and consequently, treated me with disrespect. That demonstrates a lack of proper values on the part of the business. It also discouraged me from spending any of my money there, although I could have and thought the clothes were beautiful. No one should feel embarrassed for patronizing a business. I think most business owners would agree that judging a potential customer by their appearances, especially in a place like Harbor Springs, is an egregious and costly error. Choose any other boutique in town and you'll probably have a...
Read moreIt is ironic to read the reviews that others had that mimicked my own. I told my husband as we left that we had just been “pretty woman’d”. I went in to look at a beautiful jacket. When I asked for my size the lady told me she’d prefer to tell me “the price point” on the jacket before looking in the back for my size. And that if I were serious about liking the jacket she could check with the owner to see if they had more. Then as a new customer walked in, she said “oh, you’re tiny. We have lots of great items for you”. Apparently this store does not need to foster customer service, work ethic or graciousness toward customers. Or perhaps my husband should’ve worn a tag that said top exec in a multi billion dollar company. Maybe that would’ve merited less pretension. I highly recommend you walk one more block to McLaughlins where the service and the selection...
Read moreI'd give this star 0 stars if possible. My friend and I were treated rudely by a woman who seemed to be the owner. She insinuated that we couldn't afford anything in the store and we'd be best to shop elsewhere while telling us about her rich clients that summer in Harbor Springs. Either of us could have bought her entire store, but she clearly judged us to be unworthy customers. I can't imagine doing business this way. I recommend that you don't set...
