So today was a fun filled day for me, my 11 year old daughter and 14 year old son. The staff at the Harker Heights Target is always so nice and helpful and this is the main reason I go there. Tonight, however, an armed, petite, blonde security guard/uniformed H.H. Police officer decided to change how my kids and I felt about our pleasant holiday weekend. My kids wanted to show me how to make slime and they also decided we needed more red balls for our Christmas tree. We made a quick stop at Target to grab these last minute items.
While in the video game area, (We had just purchased an Xbox One S there two nights earlier) I noticed the uniformed officer meandering near the kids toy section and she seemed to be watching me. I noticed we were the only customers in the area at the time. No big deal, she’s doing her job. Then a couple of isles down, she’s still watching the three us. We’re carrying on and enjoying our time together while looking at things up and down the isles. I kept looking back and the officer and I kept making eye contact. We made it to the Christmas decorations when my daughter decides to ask me why the officer is following us. My son notices also and I notice that she’s standing roughly 20 feet from us as if she’s looking at decorations, just like she was looking at toys earlier. My kid’s laughter suddenly turned into discomfort and fear. I decided to join the officer in the same area. I figured I’d give her a better view of our activity from a better vantage point. She made a quick turn around and started walking away from Me and my dangerous posse of children before finally veering off into another isle. I decided that we’re done shopping at Target since me and my two young children are obviously too criminal looking to walk without a police escort there.
I’m always respectful and supportive of law enforcement. I will continue to be also but this young woman owes my kids an apology for making them feel how she did. Thanks a lot for serving and protecting the Christmas balls of Target from my greasy criminal fingers, Officer Blondie.
By the way, part of the reason I returned to Target for a second time in a week was to take advantage of the gift card the Target associate gave me after buying the Xbox for my...
Read moreLast night I had to cancel a transaction due to some weirdness with my bank account. I had several items that were on clearance or were the only item left so I asked if the items could be held until the following morning. The gentleman was nice enough to say yes and took my name. I came as soon as the door opened the next morning and went to the service desk. I explained to a woman named Betty that I had some items being held for purchase and that I had been there last night. She looked at me blankly and let me know that she wasn't there yesterday- she had no idea what I was talking about. I reiterated that some items were being held for me and that they took my name and number. Still staring at me with the same dumbfounded face, she let me know again that she wasn't there yesterday so I would have to be more specific. She asked me for my name and, after I told her, she walked off to the back to see if she could find my items... stating yet again that she wasn't there yesterday so she didn't know what was going on. She came back not even a minute later with my items. She tentatively began trying to unknot the bags to ring me up and I let her know that I still had some shopping to do and I would just purchase it all at the end of my trip. She ripped open my bags in relief and handed me my items. I was cordial the whole time but I found the whole exchange rather odd. She seemed very irritated and less than eager to help me. I was able to take care of most of my Christmas shopping though so that was nice.
Edit: went back to target to pick up an online order and Betty is still there acting like she has a...
Read moreI placed an order of over $100 worth of baby items with the intention of spending $100 to receive the $20 gift card. When the gift card did not arrive, I called customer service. I was told the following two things: 1) The crib sheet in my order did not qualify as a baby item. 2) the butt paste was sent to my home instead of in store pick up, which invalidated the gift card. In response, I initially requested to pick up the butt paste in store and was told it was an option. However, when I received the email that my order was ready for pick up, I was notified that they had run out of stock of the butt paste in store and asked me to choose a different option to receive it; this is the only reason I chose to have it shipped to my house. I was then told that my order still fell less than $2 short of reaching $100 since the crib sheet did not qualify as a baby item. I am disappointed in Target’s marketing; if a crib sheet is not going to qualify as a baby item, Target needs to do a better job of making that clear so as to avoid the feeling I have that I was baited and switched. I would not have placed an order that large if I was not trying to reach the $100 to receive the gift card. And if Target had made it clear that a cribsheet does not qualify as a baby item, I would have added another item to bring my order from $98 and change to over $100. The customer service rep could not resolve my issue other than to say she could submit it to her manager. If Target does not improve its transparency in marketing its promotions, I doubt I will be the only customer who takes my business...
