Read moreWe went there to meet friends for Jason Prine's Memorial Bar-b-que. He passed away Aug 11th, 2021 due to a head on collision. The park was not crowded at all which was very surprising with it being Columbus Day weekend. So we were able to use a Pavilion that had more than enough seating and grills for our use. The only thing we didn't think about was lighting once it got to be dark. There are street lamp type lights along the walking trails but didn't light up anything much farther than that. We were not aware that you could have lighting for your use but, you had to rent it. Thanks to the weather and wind though, we did not need it. I understand that the city needs to have some way of being able to afford the upkeep and pay any workers their wages. So this does not effect my rating. It is a very nice park. One I feel completely safe at for not just me but kids as well. Also I brought my dog with us and she was perfectly happy. And as long as she is on a leash could have taken her anywhere on the park I wanted to. With the one given rule that you clean up any waste your pet may leave. I think that is just respectful and understandable no matter where you may be. There is also a playground, a swimming pool area, and enough room throughout to play frisbee with friends or your pet if you wanted to. Everything was kept clean of trash and freshly mowed. So I enjoyed this park and will be my choice again to go back to. Thank you, to the City of Harker Heights and Carl Levin...
Read moreThis is a great family park! They have a running trail with multiple paths, a pond with a fountain that you can also fish in, basketball courts, playground, gazebos, covered patios with tables and grills, and workout stations. There is also a community pool. The entire park is well maintained. You will frequently see city staff there taking care of the facilities. There are bathrooms by the playground that are some of the cleanest park bathrooms I’ve seen. There is a community garden there as well but I believe you have to be a member of the group that runs it to access it. I go running at this park frequently. Everyone is friendly and it’s very family focused. If you’re looking to bring your kids somewhere nice to play, this park is a...
