I’ll start with the positive. That’s the sales person that sold me my couch and love seat. Crystal was the best. I highly recommend anyone looking to buy furniture here to ask for her. She is the best.
Now for the negative. I received my couch and love seat on October 14th. About two weeks after delivery, the reclining mechanism on the love seat broke and it is stuck in the reclining position. Someone came on November 2nd and took pictures and recorded information. I kept calling for updates, and I was told a part was ordered. I understand in this day and age that shipping goods isn’t as quick as we would like it to be but I finally got the part last Friday, January 7th. I was hoping to get an appointment to get it fixed when I picked up the part but I was told the technician would call me. It is now one week later, and I haven’t heard a word.
I’m usually a patient and understanding person. I purchased the protection plan for situations like this, but I find nearly three months unacceptable. I was very excited to buy new furniture for the first time. Now I’m bummed that I’m making monthly payments on a broken love seat.
Update: If you choose to buy furniture from Schewels, never get the extended warranty. The same love seat that was finally replaced broke again. Also during this time my sofa broke. That was partly fixed, but the feet that broke that caused the issues were never ordered. They drug their feet on the claims with both until it hit the extended warranty. It was also close to payoff and it’s like they wanted to make sure I paid it off. They squeeze extra money out of you and tell you it will cover anything, from defects to accidentally spilling something and getting the stain out. It’s no excuse for the money you pay, and this cheaply made furniture doesn’t last two years.

Read moreDuring the shopping process the new saleswoman Ashley was nice and let us shop without hovering , I came back a couple days later to show my fiancé what I found and Ashley wasn't there but Mike was he asked if we needed any help I told him no and that we were working with Ashley, he hovered the entire time often interrupting us to ask if we had any questions and when we started working with credit made sure to tell her that he was working with us. The credit lady Barbra was very short with us and made it seem like we were bothering her, we went ahead with the purchase of the bedroom set and made sure Ashley got the commission from it. Fast forward to delivery day we get the furniture and I start to put the clothes into the drawers and every drawer in the chest had mouse droppings in it , so I start to clean them out and I get to the last drawer and there is a dead mouse in it. I call the store to speak to a manager turns out it's Barbra who proceeds to tell me "well it was a used set I did tell you to look it over before purchasing " and they spray the outside of the furniture but they don't look in it and asked what was it that I wanted to happen i asked to speak to her supervisor . Read moreWe went to Schewel’s yesterday in search of a new mattress. We actually not only purchased a mattress, but a new bedroom set. Sydney was extremely helpful and patient with us as we debated back and forth. During our time there, we noticed several different occasions where a woman named Brenda was extremely rude to the other staff members. This was extremely distasteful and we tried to ignore it. When it was time for us to do our paperwork we had some questions that the woman helping us could not answer. Who came to the rescue? Brenda. Who belittled the woman helping us, then called Sydney over to belittle her in front of us, followed by a snarky comment directly to us. If it was not for how helpful Sydney was and the time she spent with us, we would have walked out right then. On our way out I asked another staff member, who we had not worked with at all, what Brenda’s name was and she immediately started apologizing. I imagine this happens a lot, which is really unfair to the sales associates. I’m leaving 5 stars on account of how helpful everyone was-especially Sydney-but please...
