Place is a ripoff with rude staff. Went to pick up a few things, including plexiglass. Told the guy how big of a piece he looked it up and told me the price that was way over the price of online or big stores. He came back and said they had a bigger piece and could cut it down. Get to the front they ring it up and it was way more then they said asked why they said you need to pay for the whole sheet and they never said that and they were going to keep the other large part they cut off even tho they wanted me to pay for it to resell so they can make twice as much off it. Asked them to get the guy that cut it they didn't some young kid came up I asked why am I paying for the whole thing when you are keeping the rest. I said I'm trying to support local business, and I could have gotten it online much cheaper, and they should have at least told me what they were doing instead of the bait and switch. The young kid told me I should have gotten to it online in the first place, and then he just keeped being rude as he walked away. The other young man checking me out had to ask him to walk away. Not the first problem i had here they charge more to sharpen chainsaw blades, then they are new at their store. Don't not go here, buy online or at a big store. No one was cussed until the employee walked away and stopped and continued to make rude remarks after another employee repeatedly asked him to leave. The small engine mechanic in the back said they are having a problem finding good help and said half the people there act like they only have half a brain. Extremely...

I am a big fan of supporting local small town stores. Whenever I have the option I will deal with a little more travel or hassle if it means supporting the little guy.
I won’t get into the fine details, but to say that it took 5 weeks to get my chainsaw back from a simple pull cord repair. It took another 3 weeks to get carbs replaced. The carb most likely became gummed up while sitting on their shelves for 5 weeks, and it would have been nice to receive a call prior to pick up notifying me of the poor status of the engine.
Today I called at 10:03am to see if they had a stump grinder available. The person on the phone offered the 17 inch grinder and explained that it would require a trailer. I agreed on the price and told him I would be there in an hour. At 10:59 I showed up with the trailer, only to find out it was unavailable because someone called and was planning to rent it at 3pm. I assured the person I would only need it an hour or two but he was unable to rent it to me because of their system. He offered me a larger grinder at a higher cost. Frustrated, I asked if he could price match but he denied. Why wouldn’t they price match a person trying to give them business? Why did a different phone reservation trump my phone reservation? I calmly spoke to the manager Libby who offered zero solutions so I’m sitting at the big box store receiving a proper rental with...
Read moreWe moved to the area several months ago. We love the Village atmosphere and the presence of so many locally owned stores and the nice people who work in them. Beibels True Value Hardware is not far from our home and convenient, so we've made many purchases there, everything from a single screw to power equipment. One purchase, a lawnmower, starting having issues. I was out of town and my wife was unable to load it in the car and get it in for repair. Although Biebels sold it to us, they were not an authorized repair service for this brand, but when we called and explained the situation, they came, picked the up the mower, checked it out, repaired it in their store and returned it promptly. We were able to get the grass cut and leaves mulched before the coming snow. Our thanks to Don, our salesman, for advocating on our behalf, and to Bill who picked the mower up, repaired, and returned it to us. Both acted with professionalism, friendliness and courtesy. Thanks to the owners who went the extra mile and gave the OK to make it all happen, when they did not have to do so. We are now customers for life, and walking advertisements for Beibels, OUR HOMETOWN...
