I ordered fried chicken several years for our senior townhouse association picnic. In the past, I thought the price of the chicken was high, but the members like your chicken. I ordered the chicken a couple days ago for this Sunday again, for 70 pieces of chicken. You have a deal for 50 pieces for $69.95 ( $1.40 each). At first they said it would be $118.00 for 70 pieces. I told them that if 50 pieces was about $70, then half again as much 75 , should only be about $105. They did it over again and charged me $105.00 for 70 pieces, which costs me $1.50 per piece of chicken. Usually the more you buy makes the cost go down but I am paying $.10 per piece more! I am also disappointed in your change of the gas rewards. Now you have to buy certain products that you don’t need to get gas rewards. I use to average about $150 a week, of purchasing at your store but you can count me out as a customer from now on. I kinda expected a small discount because of seniors picnic purchasing a bigger order of chicken, but it is disappointing when we get charged $.10 a piece more. I placed the order this time, so I will get it, but this is the last time! I will be letting everyone know why your chicken will never be...
Read moreThe day shift is usually quite good. I will not hesitate to go there between 3-6 pm, but after 6 I won't go to this store anymore. After 9, I will drive out of town if I need something that badly.
The selection of produce is of a very high quality usually. The selection of brands through the store is limited, though their butcher counter is nice, and their bakery is well done. The convenience store attached sells drinks the remainder of the store does not, and the attached liquor store has a good selection.
The prices aren't rock bottom, but they are acceptable. The produce quality offsets a lot of negatives.
I want to like this store more, but the dark parking lot with the obnoxious kids racing through, the weird shoppers and the lack of anyone to help at night, the poorly stocked shelves in the evening, and the computer pricing bugs are just too...
Read moreBuyer Beware! I purchased 2 lobster tails for me & the Hubby for New Year's Eve @ $32+/lb. When I opened the butcher-wrapped package I found one beautiful tail. Then I found an awful smelling lobster tail with a large dark soft spot on the shell extending into the discolored, soft, slimy meat. THEN, icing on the cake, I found a 3rd tail fin... because apparently I hadn't spent enough for rotten lobster so let's just throw in a little something to add more to the scale/price. Hubby is handicapped &I can't just leave for an hour to return rotten lobster at the last minute on New Year's Eve. **This is simply inexcusable. When you buy fresh lobster directly from a butcher, you should be able to expect fresh lobster...especially at exorbitant prices they charge. Sigh! I'll return tomorrow, but so much for our much-anticipated New Year's...
