Nostalgia Lounge & Bar — Local services in Hattiesburg

2025 Update: After having such a good time at Nostalgia the last time I was there (May 2024), I suggested it to a family member who wanted to celebrate his birthday (June 2025). That probably wasn't the best decision. I was disappointed to see they have not only changed locations, but the entire vibe was different. This is no longer a place for mature people (30-45)who like to dress well, hear good music, and have a good time. This is now a place for the younger (21-30) people who like bottle popping, music you can't hear over, and twerking/standing on furniture. If I was 15 years younger, this would likely be my weekend go-to. But not now. Unfortunately, my turn-up era has passed, and I'm in my good, safe, fun era. So I probably wouldn't return. Just wanted to provide an update for those who may have seen my previous review and thought the vibe was the same.

Original review: I was invited to Nostalgia to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was easy to find (right off Main Street in Hattiesburg), but parking is scarce (through no fault of the establishment, as there are other businesses on the same strip). The bar downstairs is nice, neat, and clean, and there's ample sitting space. The VIP lounge upstairs is decent (it's the typical VIP: bar, lounge furniture, DJ, dance floor, and restrooms). There's also a really nice patio downstairs where you can enjoy hookah and a drink within earshot of the music. The vibe was great, and there was plenty of security patroling inside and out. No foolishness at all (which I was concerned about due to other reviews). The drinks were ok. This is not a bar where you're going to get mixologist crafted cocktails, but the bartenders do use a strong pour for the typical whiskey and coke or vodka and cranberry. Nostalgia Lounge & Bar is a wonderful addition to downtown Hattiesburg. Most downtown areas I have visited across the US their downtown was the place to be, and the HUB City is heading in that direction. There have been some obscene complaints against Nostalgia by other business that are very untrue. One complaint being from the Lotus Flower. We were hired to provide professional security for Nostalgia and have never witnessed what Lotus Flower has falsely complained about. At times the musics can be a tab bit loud but soon is adjusted, but we have never witnessed patrons drunk in the streets fighting one another. Yes, we call local authorities to assist us once the lounge closes and that’s only for safety precautions. Downtown Hattiesburg can’t grow with people making...

This place is a public nuisance resembling the likes of Roper’s with cops getting called regularly it seems. I live across from this place and from Thursday thru Sunday can’t get to sleep before 2am because it’s so loud! People literally drunk standing in the street and fighting each other leaving this place — not a great look! I wish they would respect a certain noise level on these nights as it’s extremely inconsiderate given this is also a residential area and it’s literally disrupting my sleep and overall health. It seems like the noise level has gotten even louder over the past few months. I hope the owner sees this review and makes necessary changes.
