Keauhou Farmer's Market — Local services in Hawaii

This is the best green market on the West side for locally grown vegetables, fruits, coffee, teas, and breads. The quality and selection of fresh food far surpass the other markets that cater to tourists. But here locals and tourists can partake in the absolutely incredible produce and offerings from the island. If you're seeking exotic fruit, there's a good chance you'll find many interesting varieties. I regularly find dragon fruit (when in season), shareill avocado, star fruit, star apple, eggfruit, soursop, jaboticaba, lulo, and more depending on the time of year. If you have not tried local strawberry papaya, you're missing out. A few of the fruit vendors are organic and sell excellent chocolate and other treats, including some vegan and gluten free. For coffee lovers, be sure to grab a bag of White Dog coffee. Their 100% Kona beans are divine, robust and not acidic, for a very fair price (real Kona coffee is not cheap). This farmer's market is better than the one in Hilo or the one down town on Alii drive. This is our weekly one stop for vegetables and fruits. Side note: one must queue up before 7:45am and wait until they ring the bell. They will not sell before the bell. Also, if you go too late, your veggies may not be there. First time back to Keahou Farmers Market in over a year...stopped going regularly (due to Covid) and the fact that the last time I went there, two thirds of the vendors were gone ! HOWEVER...they're back !! MOST of the purveyors have finally returned and the variety and quality is as wonderful as ever. Very nice variety of fresh locally grown produce. Not a bunch of arts and crafts at this market...just fruit & vegetables flowers & plants, baked goods. A "True"...
