I've been coming to this Regal Cinema for years since it's the only theater in the Hazleton area, besides Drafthouse (That's a different story though). In the past two years, I feel the theater has got progressively worse, to the point it feels like it may close any day now. The marquee outside was removed. The movie and time listings inside were removed. What was once the area to buy tickets was replaced in favor of a e-ticket machine. The wait at the snack counter to buy tickets is impossible to tell how long you'll be waiting at any given time. The prices (yeah, I know, everyone complains about the prices) honestly are astronomical. I know that's how they make money, but you'd sell more if people could afford it. The theaters themselves are outdated. The seats are uncomfortable, some are in need of repair but aren't removed from service. The most advanced thing this theater has are 3D screens. There's never any niche showings here, and most of the time you'll be going to Cinemark in Moosic or AMC in Bloomsburg for those. Events the Regal app advertises and pushes as notifications to my phone aren't anywhere in my area. That's a jab at the company rather than this particular theater. This is a personal gripe, but the quality of the physical tickets has become just a paper receipt. Long gone are the days of holding a thicker movie ticket in your hand that will last for years. Theaters are quite small, and there's really no personal room. There's no enforcement by staff on patrons being loud or shining their cell phones in others eyes during the movie. Last year, I sat through half of "Top Gun: Maverick" with the movie being messed up because after alerting the staff, no one moved to fix it for over thirty minutes. I sat in there for much longer than anticipated because of it. I had a similar experience with "Solo," only the staff tool care of us at that time with comp tickets. Additionally, bathroom utilities don't work.
Overall the theater industry is suffering, but if other theaters in the area can maintain and even improve their theaters, Regal has no excuse for...
Read moreNot one of the better experiences I have had here. Came to see Captain Marvel today. The theater (#3) was freezing cold for the four of us watching the movie. No heat at all. We wore our winter coats and it was still cold in there. The popcorn was beyond OVER SALTED to say the least and inedible and there was something wrong with the coke. It didn't taste sweet like it should, not very carbonated, just off...not soda like and undrinkable. I asked for my popcorn to be replaced after I tried a few pieces in my seat and my lips were burning from the sale and it was comp'd gladly by the manager but it took over ten minutes to make new. I think something was wrong with the popcorn...when we got there, two workers were emptying it out completely to redo it. I should have asked then to get a new one and a different soda. I missed out on seeing all of the previews waiting for a new bag. The seats at the top of the wall by the first rail platform have lost their stuffing and a sharp metal wire poked me for over 3 hours. Yes, I could have moved but I like sitting by the lighted stairs. The concession prices are beyond CRAZY. $8 for a medium popcorn and $6 for a bland, something was really off small soda? Customers should not need to come back to the concession because their over priced food is bad. The movie was great, and the sound was perfect. With a summer full of blockbuster movies to come I hope the theater gets everything running smoothly so I can write more favorable reviews. Keep in mind, movies with snacks are a treat for those of us working hard wanting to get the most for our money. Let's make it a great experience...
Read moreFirst, we ordered tickets online. No one to help get the tickets as the kiosk wouldnt scan our code. Asked a worker, are there any humans to assist with check in because this kiosk isnt helping.... cockily remarks do you not see the humans at the consession???? Finally got someone from consessions to help us. Next, movie was to start at 820. Didnt start until 9. Then....... sitting there an hour into the movie, i felt like i was being eaten alive. I thought, stop. Its just in your head. My friend slapped his arm saying he is getting bit by bugs. Ok, now, NO its not in my head. I said me too. I was itching all over. Slapping my legs. Couldnt sit still. My friend goes to the bathroom. He doesn't come back for 10 minutes, i ask why. he says wait til i see his arms. And hour and a half into a 3 hour movie, i cant concentrate on the movie as i feel like im the main course. I have no idea whats going on anymore with the movie although i was desperately trying to enjoy it. I wondered why the 3 sitting to our left got up and walked out 40 minutes ago. Thought nothing of it. Finally i couldnt take it anymore. I am leaving. Talking to my friend about why i just couldnt sit there one more minute, a worker starts yelling at me to watch where im walking. Well after i step in the puke that was all over the floor and almost fall. I say why not section that off, put cones up or something!!! Stand in front of it!!! Ffs. But yeah i felt really safe with the TWO ARMED GUARDS. NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN! Got out to my car, there were little red bite marks all over my legs and my friends arms. So utterly...
