Warning to Neurology Patients â Dr. Michael Dang
My mother was admitted to Henderson Hospital after experiencing seizures for the very first time in her life. She had 4 back-to-back seizures, lost consciousness, and never gained it back until EMTâs arrived and saved her life and 5 in total before arriving, which is why she was admitted. From the very first encounter, Dr. Michael Dang was dismissive, rude, and completely lacking compassion. He refused to listen to our concerns, cut us off when we tried to speak, and even tried to send my mother home multiple times despite the fact that she was still having seizures. At one point he contradicted himself, saying the seizure medication was working so she could go home (it hadnât even been 24 hours since she had a seizure). We requested an MRI that had already been ordered by him and instead of providing reassurance, he told us: âWell it wonât affect me, I donât have to sit here.â He also told my mother her seizures were ânot realâ the next day and suggested she just see a therapist this after she had endured 11 seizures in less than a week and that he would be completely fine discharging her because the medicine wonât work for her because she needs a therapist. We told him we already have spoken to HR his tone slightly changed after I asked she be transferred to sunrise because he was under qualified and this was a level 3 hospital he said yeah we possibly can do that but I donât know how long thatâll take so what would you even like done I guess I can do a EEG longer to try to catch a seizure thatâs all they are going to do for her so your going to have to sit and wait and see if insurance even approves the transfer and who knows how long thatâll take. At that point we were furious and she wanted to leave to seek better care she is experiencing a life changing issue and he made her feel so low and me completely unsafe with my loved one in his care. The nurses were wonderful and even they expressed concern about how severe her seizures were They confirmed she needed urgent care and indeed that they were ânot fakeâ they expressed concern to us which was even more of a red flags Dr. Dang ignored it, the nurse notes or concerns really everything from day 1 of arrival also He never once came to witness a seizure or show concern; instead, he brushed us off, rushed out of the room, and forced me to even chase him down the hallway to get answers on a clear solution at one point we were so baffled and confused on what our next steps were each day Once we arrived at Sunrise, my mother had yet another seizure clear proof she was NOT stable enough to go home as Dr. Dang insisted, (and yes we did check out before discharge papers were ready but you can understand why) This experience was violating, dehumanizing, and negligent. My mother deserved compassion, thorough care, and to be taken seriously. Instead, she was treated as if she were wasting his time, like she was just another number on his list to check off for the day Henderson Hospitalâs nurses were caring, but Dr. Michael Dang should not be trusted with neurology patients AT ALL EVER. His behavior was unprofessional, unsafe, and cruel. The arrival to sunrise was COMPLETELY different the compassion the attentiveness the solutions ALREADY they have done more in less then 10 hours then the Henderson hospital did in 4 days DISGUSTING DO NOT TRUST THIS DOCTOR WITH YOUR FAMILY MEMBER I can only imagine the outcome had I not been there to vouch and...
Read moreI've been to this hospital 3 times the past 2/3 years ( for other patients ) & the most recent I have to say was a bit disappointed. The first occurrence ( unfortunately forgot the Dr's name but he looks like Kang Sung from Fast & furious & he was working Day shift ) He is amazing ( little biased on my part ) but he truly is thought the whole time there!
Second time around was a bit uneasy given a Caucasian girl since she can't act like a lady.. with red scrubs I am recalling maybe in radiology ? she was working during the day shift & has tattoos that are unpleasantly gross along w/ her attitude towards all patients when I had been observing her she was also in a altercation w/ a patient in the ER lobby seeking help and he ended up having to be escorted out by HPD. Ridiculous, as I would have been just as furious as him with having a medical " worker " like her try to assist me while she talks utter trash about patients to her posse in plain sight when I overheard even before the incident I witnessed. Other than her the Male Nurse was amazing.
Third occurrence was GRAVE shift 2/2/24, Dr/Physician Kenneth Chang Do and Nurse who was a young lady with a septum piercing ( at check in ) which I noticed they placed new cubical right when you walk in for emergency check in instead of the front.. was great, patient, attentive & showed concern with the toddler patient! Muhammad who took the patients height/weight ( don't recall his position ) was funny without even knowing it or saying much but he had a straight face looked restless, but the way he called the patient with no words was just humorous it was the eye contact for me.. Honestly they deserve the Daisy award along with the Dr. in the 1st intro paragraph.
HOWEVER, during this 3rd visit it was bothering how for the whole duration of the time there not one HC worker had bothered picking up gloves, multiple Sphygmomanometer's etc.. that was all over the lobby / entrance. The Filipina woman working in cubicle 4 next to Lovely who was in #3 was rude and her demeanor / approach. She was only nice to the other filipino couple waiting in the lobby and took her time to even walk up to them to speak and show concern she was just getting info / Insurace don't know her position.. Had it been anyone else they'd be offended with her approach and tone as if she's above them acting annoyed with her JOB. Wish the patient would have had lovely instead. The others were just sitting around doing god knows what I really don't know and can't say since I'm not an employee were just lingering around.
I understand the stress and business there is for HCW'S but that's no excuse.. Treat the hospital like your home no place of business like that should have filth around..especially if its not even busy in the lobby was not "busy" till around 2:30 am. So about a whole hour not one person owned it.
Side note: If you don't have the patience or morals to be in HC then QUIT if you're only in it for the money and cannot handle it without the capabilities to do your job or be a decent human being to others you're in the...
Read moreI wouldâve gave zero stars if I could, but Iâm giving three stars only because of one doctor. I donât know where to begin. I got there at 9:30/10ish AM at first service is quick intake bloodwork EKG after that it went downhill. I went to the hospital for shortness of breath, chest pain and heart pain. Iâve had these symptoms before I knew exactly what it could be. I asked for exactly what I needed to the Dr. Dang because Iâve experienced this before. Instead of getting what I requested they started running a lot of different tests, but I understood as a hospital they want to eliminate other things so I allowed it to happen mind you 3 hours later still waiting with the same pain. No one checking on me when I asked for medication. The front desk lady was rude. Like sheâs tired of helping sick people another two hours past. I seen the doctor (Dr. Dang) expressed exactly what was going on and how it was solved previous time. The doctor understood and stated she will get the test I need and get me medication. She put the order in and had me go back in the lobby and another two hours passed still no medication still no testing that I requested. Went back to the front desk lady asking for medicine she rebuttal saying my vitals look good. I express itâs not my vitals. Thatâs the problem is my chest pain my shortness of breath and heart pain. I just need something to help me get past me waiting. I told her itâs been seven hours already, and itâs torture, she expressed she understood. Itâs heartbreaking to see the empathy eliminated from some of these nurses eyes. The doctor saw me, she asked if I got my medicine I told her no she immediately took me in the back and requested the nurse to give it to me. The relief I cannot explain felt amazing. Finally, they ran the test I needed gave me the proper medication I wanted I understand that the hospital is not probably staffed, but that is not right. These are people living their worst days and to have no service when you needed the most is a vulnerable feeling. Henderson hospital management, Ceo, chairman, people on the board- whoever is running it. How dare you allow your medical staff to run on empty. When itâs people they are serving. I canât blame the front desk lady for have nothing to give when her cup isnât being filled by her employer. You need to staff your Hospital better so they can serve the people with the community better. You canât expect one doctor to help 20 patients at a time people fall through the cracks and no one should be suffering. Everyone deserves proper equal treatment. Sad to say I probably will never come back to Henderson Hospital again the only thing that will have me come back is Dr. Dang. To have such a kind knowledgeable Dr is a waste to that place. Henderson, Hospital doesnât deserve it. You need to do better by your doctors by your nurses by your staff and especially the community because without us there will be no Hospital. Overall, it took 10 hours to be serviced and no one...
